my friend was in jail with her when she got arrested on those charges in december (he was there on an open container violation). she kept begging the guard for heroin and yelling "i'm famous." my friend, being the classy guy that he is, asked for her number. she told him she was too fucked up to remember it.

I've always kinda liked her. Prob b/c of Slums of Bev Hills, which I thought was good in many ways. haha re: "I'm famous!" To be so fucked up and high and have this be one of the few things that spins into your mind and then said out loud can only mean fame is screwing you up. aw. But I always thought she tread a decent fame line, not too big not too unknown. Maybe her indie cred lead to too much cool factor, and then, those rocknroll drugs...

I'll second the "annoying drunk" accusation...I was at the bar 2A three years ago and she was there being quite abnoxious, offering Vicodin to anyone nearby (not bad in and of itself, but not a smart thing to do loudly, given her celeb status)..she was with two Strokes, and they looked very embarassed

AMERICAN PIE star NATASHA LYONNE is reportedly fighting for her life in a New York City hospital, after being found with hepatitis C, a heart infection and a collapsed lung.
The New York Post reports that the missing actress has been found struggling to survive in the Beth Israel Hospital's intensive care unit.
The publication says that as well as the range of health problems she's battling, Lyonne was also found with track marks, and is undergoing methadone treatment, typically used to help heroin users. Her father AARON BRAUNSTEIN, who visited the 26-year-old actress a week ago, tells US TV show ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, "I read the article. I'm crying, actually. It's terrible. That's my little girl. It's a terrible tragedy. But she's gonna get better. We're all praying for her and she's a tough girl.
"As we see in the paper, she's probably with the wrong crowd, but the main thing she picked up is (hepatitis C) in Bulgaria (while shooting her 2001 movie THE GREY ZONE)."

And Braunstein is certain the New York Post will face legal action for exposing details of Lyonne's condition, explaining, "There's a confidentiality between patient, doctor and hospital, so all of this is gonna be probably a major lawsuit."

i am glad she appears to be doing better! her dress and make-up do her no favours but she doesn't look bad - i'm sure given a dif outfit and make-up and lighting/angle, she'd look better though - this kind of flash photography is really not a friend to the fleshy-faced (she's not even that over-weight! i mean, her legs and arms look pretty great. she's prob like me (and other women) who when they're even 15 lbs above skinny, 5 lbs of that is in the face :/ )

Caught a bit of American Pie on TV the other night. In the late 90s she was an absolutely outstanding young actor – consistently interesting and sparky even in pretty shitty films, and way better than any of the other notionally offbeat young women acting in movies at the time. It's an awful shame her life was so badly derailed.
