To the old lady holding an anti-war sign in Edinburgh town centre today whilst two dumb squadies tried to sign up people (but instead chatted up young girls - a bit TOO young IMO) I salute you!

Was too shy to really shake your hand and tell you that the squadies should - in the ideal world - be forced to perform simple street tricks for our amusement like juggling and fire eating but... well I never. But fuck these Jock bozo assholes. WAR! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing...

My favourite sight in Edinburgh was one time there was an anti-abortion protest which had been confined to a small section of a pavement (a large flat piece in front of some old building, anyway), where the police were keeping them within a twenty foot radius, while anti-anti protesters stood around, also with placards. And all was peaceful protest, but boy were the anti-abortion protesters outnumbered, outgunned AND a little shamefaced (in my memory, in reality probably staunch within the valley of the heathen etc bladibladibalhh)

(oh yeah, the anti-abs were singing with guitars, just to keep their own spirits up. Kumbaya my lor....)

Was the abortion protest outside the brook? That's a couple of mins from my office.

I couldn't say as such. But, it was at the bottom of "Princes Street" if you go along with the castle/park on your right.

Yep, that's the one. I work in the big concrete monstrosity up from the grassmarket, behind the castle.
