"Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky" on BBC4 - any good?

I don't have the box yet so can't get BBC 3 or 4, but I did read the source trilogy of novels recently and I wondered whether they worked on screen.

No doubt it'll be repeated on BBC 2 in a matter of weeks, but I'm just curious to know whether Patrick Hamilton has been done justice here.

I've done my usual trick of persuading my workplace that it's a vital resource to make available to students... on a DVD copy... that I can then borrow... and play on my computer. Result!

But um, yeah I won't have seen it until after Saturday, so can't comment yet. Love the books though.

Fuck me! I only *just* realised that the title is a - blindingly obvious - Jules Verne ref! What an idiot.
