For years I've been getting mass e-mails from these people who have a little baby girl who is very sick -- or, who was very sick, she's had some very serious operation on, I think, her brain -- anyway, they send the e-mails out to all their relatives with pix and all -- she's a very cute girl -- and I guess someone has an e-mail address that's just a transposition of two of the letters in one of my domain names. I was deleting their happy new baby e-mails for months, maybe a year, thinking they were spam, before I finally looked at one, and I more or less realized what was going on, but I never e-mailed to let them know the confusion because, well, because it was weird that the confusion was happening -- didn't they talk to this person who wasn't receiving the e-mails for many months? Didn't that person ever say, "No, I haven't seen your cute baby's new pics, no I didn't hear how the brain surgery went?", that sort of thing?

I suppose I probably should have written the guy but, ah well.

Anyway the baby now has a little brother and I still get the e-mails, all these years later. Usually I just delete them immediately, though. It's all somewhat upsetting and creepy.

"mxyzptlk" sorry, he must be polish too

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

OMG!!!!

I opened a Gmail account with my full name as the handle a while back, just because. But I use this one out of habit, and haven't looked at the other account for months! It is FULL of emails to another Adam Levine about all kinds of shit! Like this! :

Yo Levinicus. Sorry I've been struggling with the phone calls... I feel really bad I haven't
gotten back to you; I don't have your number in my phone, so hit me back with your
digits, and it'll be easier for me to stay in touch.
Things have been Hectic here. me and maren broke up when i got back from chi-town;
she's all shades of struggling, serious depression style in my opinion, and of course she
doesn't have it in her to be in an intense, committed relationship, let alone be living with
her boyfriend. Yeah, we still live together, which is REALLY making this difficult.
I don't know what to say, man; there's so much. I don't even know how to deal with
her... I've just been trying to man up to all this as best i can. I've been trying really hard
to be there for maren, but it feels like that means that i bury any feelings i have about
what's going on because usually i feel like it's pretty fucked up, which it is, which i also
can't really say to maren. so i'm kind of oscillating between these extremes of
desperate, pathetic romanticism that destroys any sense of myself, and pissed-off
individualism that, while i'm looking out for myself, makes me feel like i'm leaving my
friend stranded in a bad place. but the truth is (and it's becoming more and more clear
to me as i write this) that my "being there" for her right now is for shit; it drives my dignity
and sense of self into the ground, and it doesn't seem to help maren that much either.
and then... who knows? i just don't know where to go from here... although, maren told
me today she's going to be taking over her friend's lease for may and living by herself,
which will take the stress out of things A LOT. there's so much more to all of this... we
should talk soon. sorry for just dumping all of this on you; i just feel totally fucked right
now... i hope albuquerequqeurrque is treating you well. hit me back and let me know
what your life is like, and how the southwest is. and thanks for always being there.
peace

European Samuel Glickstein (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

thanks for always being there.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

This guy's friends are CORNY, dudes!

European Samuel Glickstein (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

Woah, sounds like he missed out on some action too:
Cutiepants!

I am sorry, but I think I might not be able to help you move this weekend. My
friends are visiting me from Boston (and probably staying with me) so I feel
like I have some obligation to hang out with them while they are here. :)

However, should they suddenly decide that they want to help you move as well
while they are here, or alternately if they dont' feel the need to be
continually entertained for the entire weekend, I shall email you. :)

xoxo
Zoe

European Samuel Glickstein (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

Ha!

Hi,

Thanks for the email but I think you got the wrong email address.
Sorry, but I thought you would want Adam to get this email.

Leon Future Coffee (Ex Leon), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

Levinicus (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

i wonder what he thought of spirited away

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Is it lunch break in Canada or something?

Levinicus (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

actually i should go. i have to meet a man about a baseball game.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure if you ask him he would tell you that he "dug" Spirited Away and that it was like "a Disney movie...on acid".

Except he wouldn't do that because he is a role model for the youth.

I have still never heard Maroon 5's music though my wife was apparently humming one of their songs the other day. PERHAPS TO TAUNT ME.

Levinicus (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

i can't walk a block without hearing maroon 5's music.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:37 (twenty years ago)

Why? is it your theme tune?

Levinicus (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:38 (twenty years ago)

ha!

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)

no.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)

Adam, I had no idea you shared a name with a Maroonie.

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

"Maroonie" = the cute pet name me and the other girls in the Maroon 5 fan club call the band

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

This sort of thing happens to me at work! My name is Tre, and there's a guy who works here named Trey. Suffice to say, hijinks ensue quite often since both of our addresses end with @whereiwork.com.

I have still never heard Maroon 5's music though my wife was apparently humming one of their songs the other day.

of course she was because they are the ultimate chick band! I found my own wife inadvertantly bopping her head to one of their softcore bland ballads just yesterday! If I were much better looking I'd write music just like them because CHICKS LIKE IT

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 21 April 2005 21:01 (twenty years ago)

Mandee you should read my thread
I'm Not That Adam Levine!

Levinicus (nordicskilla), Thursday, 21 April 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

Samuel Glickstein

This name is very close to my real name, but my name is Jewier. I do a double-take whenever I read it.

Sym Sym (sym), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:09 (twenty years ago)

PP = Tre Arrow?!

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:13 (twenty years ago)

No, Tre Cool. Sssshhhh.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:53 (twenty years ago)

Thanks for letting me know; I was wondering why my homeboy hadn't gotten
back to me yet. I hope it was amusing reading at least... Take care
