Aww. I can remember the fuss made in Edinburgh's local rag when his sculptures at the top of leith walk were commissioned.

That's sad. I really liked his Dean Gallery thing last year.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 22 April 2005 11:21 (twenty years ago)

Personally, I think there were already enough of his sculptures around Edinburgh. The big two-story thing in the Dean Gallery is nice, though.

Maybe enough in Edinburgh but not enough in the rest of the country I reckon.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 22 April 2005 12:01 (twenty years ago)

Yup. They should be shared out a bit more evenly. I do like the one in the British Library forecourt.

I like sitting on his feet.

i was reading about jg ballard the other day. name paolozzi came up -- i wondered if he was anything like bryan kneale, or whether he knew (film critic) raymond durgnat. durgnat's friend, the filmmaker don levy, included paolozzi in a documentary he made, 'opus', in 1967. i had never heard of him before, so was today googling about him. and he died a week ago. anyway, his prints ('as is when') are amazing.

Where is his stuff in Tottenham Court Road station? I don't want to spens more time there than necessary.
