"Moneys" vs. "Money"

I sort of understand why Americans would want to use the term "moneys" occasionally when dealing with multiple sources and millions of dollars, but a coworker of mine seems to fall short of understanding that money itself is a plural term. This person has the worst vocabulary ever, so this little affectation appears to be her way of sounding sophisticated (though her husband is British, so maybe she's picking it up from him), but when she refers to collecting "moneys" for ordering lunch, it is a bit much.

Are there any hard and fast rules on this usage? Hearing it repeatedly has become annoying, but if it is 100% grammatically correct, perhaps that will take the sting out of it.

Your friend has spent too long sniffing in the deep fat fryer & ought to have a bell round her neck, but I can't fault her, grammatically.

our search - WASSACAPITALAKATMANDUYACUNT - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:
- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.

I think the drunk was suggesting that all answers to questions such as this can be found by Googling; for example the question "what is the capital of Katmandu, ya cunt?" yields the answer "Napoli" through proper search procedure using Google.

But I have not performed the search myself to see if this is the answer or the question. I am only vaguely familiar with Katmandu.

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal.
