A thread for discussing the classic Indian film "Mughal-e-Azam" (and my FT essay on it ;-) )

The film itself has a website that will give you a lot of the promo guff, while my ramble on it can be found here. Thoughts on both welcomed -- Vic, Arthur and I all saw it in a heap the other week on his encouragement and I know other folks are thinking about catching it soon. It's very well worth seeing...

I once projected this three hour monster to one person, who left about halfway in. (And I didn't realize until the showing was about to end.)

In regards to this particular film, that says a lot about your friend, but perhaps even more about you if you're even occasionally projecting movies (to torment others) that you genuinely think of as "monsters."

a) I spoke of monster as in length - three hour films on 35mm = four hours of prep time, plus three hours of projection
b) I didn't watch it, so I can't have an opinion on it from anything other than a projection stand-point
c) this was a film school screening. The fact that only one person showed up is nothing but embarrassing to all, IMHO.
