I'm excited about this. My glass is half full.

It's more exciting when Kevin Smith's name isn't being brought up.

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:42 (twenty years ago)

I really think that Greedo will marry a Wookie in the live action series.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

make it stop.

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

I'm going to put a sleeping bag and lawn chair in front of my TV and just WAIT.

andy --, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:48 (twenty years ago)

Hahahahah.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

People, this is REALLY all you need to know:

Mr Lucas told the Celebration III convention the live action TV series would be similar to Raiders of the Lost Ark spin-off The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

*flees into the night screaming*

Jar Jar Binks: the Disco Years

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:52 (twenty years ago)

My sister is probably the only person in the whole world that loved Young Indiana Jones.

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

Then George should go visit her and thank her like a good mogul.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

it is reassuring that he has no plans for any more post-Jedi Star Wars crap (tho he's totally lying when he says he "never considered it" - he circulated the 3 trilogies of 3-chapters each idea for years)

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:55 (twenty years ago)

Seriously, it's gonna rule!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

George Lucas is an anagram for Big Douchebag.

Huk-L, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

This is the episode where the young Boba Fett meets the young Han Solo meets the young Luke Skywalker meets the young Chewie!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

"Starcruiser crash!"

Huk-L, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:06 (twenty years ago)

Darth: I'm not sure if I like the name "Clone Trooper", it's not tough enough.
Emperor: How about "Darkside Troopers"?
Darth: No, we need something that evokes power, if you're not a jedi or a sith, you won't get it...
Emperor: We'll form a working group. Anyway, about that square super space station...

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)

Palpatine: Today I'm doing the staff appraisals, and some people get a little bit nervous about that 'cos they think they're walking the long mile to put their head on the block. But they're wrong, it's a chance for them to tell me where we're going wrong. It's very much an opportunity...
Vader: -to separate the wheat from the chaff
Palpatine: Well, no, that sounds bad. It's not a witch-hunt, we're not trying to find out who the worst people are
Vader: Well, we know who they are already
Palpatine: Well, no
Vader: I've written them down on my form
Palpatine: You shouldn't have written them on your form
Vader: I've underlined the worst ones
Palpatine: You're missing the point
[looks at Vader's form]
Palpatine: Yep.

Huk-L, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:17 (twenty years ago)

Is this the part where Wilson looks over the fence at them?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:51 (twenty years ago)

Wilson = Grand Moff Tarkin

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:56 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if this show will make Enterprise look novel and exciting.

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:59 (twenty years ago)

That would require an act of god (and I'm busy eating lunch right this second).

George Lucas to play himself on an episode of The O.C. in May
NEW YORK (AP) — The force is with The O.C.
George Lucas will guest star as himself on the May 12 episode, the Fox network announced Tuesday.
The Star Wars creator will express interest in the graphic novel of the main character, Seth Cohen (Adam Brody).
Brody’s character, an avid Star Wars fan, frequently has the good fortune of meeting his heroes. His favourite band, Death Cab for Cutie, recently played on the show.
Earlier this season, the trailer for Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith premiered during the program. The final instalment of the Star Wars saga opens in theatres on May 19.
Fox recently announced that The O.C. will return for a third season. It airs Thursdays (8 p.m. EST).

Huk-L, Tuesday, 26 April 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

the animated one might be decent. god knows the star wars cartoons on the cartoon network are fucking fantastic and contain more imagination in a 3 minute episode than the first two prequels combined.

> I've still not seen them yet but hell, it's Tarkovsky and his crew, how can it NOT work?

but the New New Animated series is 3d animation so i'm guessing Genndy won't be involved of, if he is, it won't be his usual style.
