Reasons why Donut should be in a band with the noise board

I can write code that can manipulate sound data in non-standard ways using math formulae.

Also I have a guitar, many pedals, an autoharp, a theremin, and last but not least The Rapinator!

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 28 April 2005 18:49 (twenty years ago)

The Rapinator??!?!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 28 April 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

I've seen it working. I've even caressed it. And the Rapinator too.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

Also the G@ng Wiz@rd incident was totally not his fault.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 28 April 2005 19:33 (twenty years ago)

I was innocent. I was dressed as a mummy in toilet paper playing a Language Master. The woman who had to go to the hospital got hit by a falling kick drum accidentally dropped from another member.

No further comment.

make this thread turn orange and then disappear and we'll talk.

noize bored, Thursday, 28 April 2005 19:36 (twenty years ago)

noize bard tour 2006

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 28 April 2005 19:36 (twenty years ago)

Touring...without moving.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

(x-post) It just did - but donut used invisible html ink. Hold your computer over a flame to see the orange colouring.

moley, Thursday, 28 April 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

Why doesn't Donut just start a band to be worshipped by the noize dudez? That seems much more reasonable.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Dude, the noise board has a band. WOLPHIN!!!

Where ever 2 noise dudes can be found, a WOLPHIN show may happen.

donut we coulda jammed last summer, dude.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

we coulda stormed the stage at that black dice/juan mclean show, instead of having beer sprayed at us.

we were there.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

(also, i didn't have any cool noise toys, I just had vinyl bought from london and reykjavík :/ )

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

Those ARE cool noise toys.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

dude you could be da "dj"

the dj i was bagging on that night uh turned out to be tim sweeney! last couple times i've seen him he's been miles better.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

That was Tim Sweeney? Why the fuck aren't you or I DJing every goddamn NYC show then? Had it been Goldsworthy, it might have been different, though.. but goddamnit!

anyway.. I did do a noise/improv/sample show on kuci called &!$yuer*%^tv%*@$ from 1993 to 1994 every thursday morning from 12am to 3am. I have a duffel bag of about 100 or so 90 minute cassettes. i recorded every show. i should freeze time, and edit the best moments down to about 38 minutes. Or maybe just 3 minutes.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

anyway, hstencil and i were doing live critical analysis of tim's djing that night. we were fucking corn dogs.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

That must cause curious sensations.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

yeah, he was pretty bad. i couldn't believe it was him when i found out later. last few times i've seen him he's kicked ass tho, so all is forgiven.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

I fear I wasn't explicit/childish enough.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

no no no i know, i didn't drive up from pedro yesterday, 'kay?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

*bows*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

Wait, I thought your name was Ned?

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

After I move house I promise to make more shit with Ableton and stuff and then can I be in the noise band too? You know to be real noise you got to have DANCEPOP LOOPACTION.

Anyway hstencil and Ian have copies of my noise credentials! I played the delay unit and the lowpass filter.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:08 (twenty years ago)

it's somewhere in the clutter of my room, tom. maybe i'll find it when i move out.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:10 (twenty years ago)

The only person whose entire life you are totally wasting is you, dude.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

you think i don't already know that? sheesh

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:18 (twenty years ago)

ouch tom now i'm in a bad mood

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:19 (twenty years ago)

pisscutter anyone?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:30 (twenty years ago)

I had a dream 2 nights ago that I was playing my delay looped through a series of graphic eqs and pedals

Open your eyes; you can fly! (ex machina), Thursday, 28 April 2005 21:44 (twenty years ago)

Pisscutter are not a "noise" band. We are a strictly numbers math rock trio. Sean See and Andrew Wh3re will testify.
