Seven Sisters Road Solemn Procession

last night, around 1130pm, i heard sort of choral voices. i looked out of the window, and saw around 50 people walking slowly, with candles, chanting/murmuring/singing, in a quiet solemn way. i live on a side street, and they were heading down towards seven sisters road (just by hornsey rd)

was there a religious event last night? or something that might explain this?

I don't know, but whatever it was, they stashed it on Tunstall Road in Brixton!

Yes, this is the "epidafion", Greek Good Friday. I've been on it a few times. The procession is to the church.

Sorry; the correct spelling, if you want to look it up on google, is "epitaphion". It's actually the icon that's carried at the front of the procession (jesus wrapped in cloth to be buried in a "tomb" at the church) but that's how some people refer to the whole event.
