what kind of episode brought THAT disclaimer on, i wonder...

maybe some nihilistic outrageous party animal they once hired or something!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 04:28 (twenty years ago)

Some of the topics we cover include:

* Human ancestry, adaptation, Darwinism and the influence of evolutionary
pressures on human development.

* Using gifts from nature (herbs, foods, water, sunshine) as healing
modalities.

* Why organized medicine (doctors, surgeons, drug companies) is a failing
system of health care that primarily seeks profits, not health solutions.

* Stress reduction techniques using breathing therapy, meditation, light
therapy, etc.

* The dangers of the standard American diet, including dairy products, red
meat consumption, food additives and sugars.

If you are uncomfortable covering any of these topics, or if you are
philosophically opposed to them, please do NOT continue the application
process. You don't necessarily have to support all of these positions, but
you must be at least neutral on these ideas in order to be an effective part
of the publishing operation here.

i am philosophically opposed to the gifts of nature.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 05:22 (twenty years ago)

at what point are you allowed to make urine-drinking jokes?

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 05:28 (twenty years ago)

immediately, i hope.

i agree with some of the natural health principles (pharmas are evil, all the chemicals in the food we eat are probably making us sicker than we realize, and there are some natural cures that actually DO work). i could never be a slave to the lifestyle though.

reno sweeney (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 05:36 (twenty years ago)

I hate that word wellness. I have to write about spas a lot and always change it to well being.

Paul Kelly (kelly), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 08:54 (twenty years ago)

Sounds like they don't want anybody who would a)insist on equal time for creationism and b)order cheeseburgers and coffee light w/two sugars at lunch. But "sunshine as a healing modality" and "light therapy"? Tanning your way to the top of the evolutionary ladder!

My new flatmate is a trainee homeopath. I hope I can bite my tongue when appropriate.

Dear s1ocki,

Please accept this gift of naturally-fermented beer. Mmm, beer. If you refuse we'll give you a tornado instead.

Your pal,
