Last Saturday morning in the King's Road Malcolm Rifkind was out and about, working the street and being trailed by an ocean of blue balloons. Outside the old Chelsea Barracks I witnessed one of his helpers forcibly place one of these blue balloons in the trembling hand of an elderly disabled Muslim in a wheelchair, the latter having no apparent clue as to what this was all about.

One time, coming out of school, I saw the local tory MP, name escapes me, looks like Arthur Daley, handing out stickers / balloons to the kids, over the fence standing inside the local old peoples centre. Now, this is illegal, canvassing to kids, quite expressly. But, as he was on private property i.e. the old peoples home, he wasn't actually illegal.
