has anyone tried the family test on their parents?

i.e. to find out how much they know about you (inspired by the "do you talk to your parents thread")

Starts with simple things

I.E. "when is my birthday?" (even this can be difficult for some parents"

"how old am i?"

to the more tricky

"whats my favourite, colour, food, band, thing to do, place to go etc..."

if you have tried it what where the results- surprising or dissapointing?

My parents get our names wrong all the time, I suspect birthdays are a little too much to ask.

wow! CHRIS weird timing. my mum and dad only realised that my birthday was three months ago, after my brother said (on his birthday) what did you get for your birthday? too utter silence when they looked at me, and i was like yeah it was three months ago.....

I don't even know what my favorite color is.

yeah actually i dont really do colours - like when my sister is like "what do you think of the colour of my soft furnishings?" - who cares, as long as they function and they are clean!

I have no interest in this, but I sort of want to do the Tofu Hut family values thing with my mom/dad/stepmom, i.e. give them each the same mix cd and force them to listen and write reactions to the songs.

My parents just assume my favorite things now are the same ones that were my favorites when I was 8, or early high school age at the latest. My Dad, for example, still makes chit chat with me about Enya and teases me about the Weezer "tear my sweater" song every time he sees me.

Last year my mother asked me if I wanted a Bon Jovi cd for christmas. I laughed, but at the same time it made me sad.

Yeah, but how many people would be able to answer the same questions if you were asked about your parents?

Chris, it could be worse. My grandmother always complains what a horrible, painful, never to be repeated delivery she had. Especially on my mum's birthday. In front of other people. That her ******* still hurts after all these years.

My dad doesn't remember anybody's birthday. He doesn't even remember his own birthday, lol...

my dad only remembered his wedding anniversary by looking at the dates engraved on his wedding ring.
He doesn't remember my birthday either, but luckily my sister was born on Christmas eve.

I can honestly say my mother knows every sordid detail of my life....but only because I have nothing to hide and she takes an interest.
