well, Pete you see, the nylon is never bearing the full 20 pound weight is it? Unless you do something stupid like swing the carp through the air when you get it near the bank. In fact in fishing you tend to use line with a lower breaking strain than the fish your after, for instance when fishing on the Trent I used to use 2 lb breaking strain line to catch 4 pound chub and bigger carp.

I read it as fishing as well.
