Dubplatestyle: self-inflicted bad haircuts: classic or dud?
ethan P23: you're asking me? bah, classic
Dubplatestyle: man, my head looks like a minefield right now.
ethan P23: can i drop some food aid packages onto it?
Dubplatestyle: it could only help. i got the "strip" effect going on.
Dubplatestyle: as if i didnt look like enough of a tool already
ethan P23: as if!
Dubplatestyle: don't go there!
ethan P23: too much information!
Dubplatestyle: woo woo!

no new answers could be as vulgar as what my head looks like right now.

jess, Monday, 10 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Dubplatestyle: woo woo!
ethan P23: Gale!
Dubplatestyle: i wonder what gale's head looks like
ethan P23: let me look down and i'll tell you

Pervs.

I live with someone whom, when I met him, had the most bizarre self- inflicted hairstyle. He was actually TRYING to look like Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys, wtf?

I barely ever cut my own hair.

Ally, Monday, 10 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DUD.

rainy, Monday, 10 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

complete dud. my best mate's girlfriend does this and she looks like Clint Boon.

Carpets-era Booney, rather than recent short hair developments.

Can't truss it (no no no no).

David Raposa, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Cut my hair once. Wore a cap for the next three weeks.

if the show i was at saturday is any indication, they're widely considered classic. everyone was seemingly issued a cigarette, a bottle of beer and a flowbee at the door; none of them wanted to talk about anything but john fahey. but it was a folk show.

your null fame, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tried cutting my hair when I was a kid with a set of nail scissors. Left myself with a one-inch square bald patch right on the top of my head that could clearly be seen by people behind me when walking down stairs.

*shame*

Never again. Not even with clippers. Haircuts, unlike orgasms, are best performed with company.

ogden, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

definitely dud, but then the same three people have cut my hair since I was six years old. If that hairdresser closed, then I would approach another with great trepidation.

MarkH, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i cut my hair not 6 hrs ago..its a bit severe, but free.

the best is getting yr mate to do it: still free but they can do the back better. unless they are fucked up.

ambrose, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

MitchAnon: hair still look bad today?
Dubplatestyle: oy. i look like king of the tools
MitchAnon: what if ya go nuts and then just shave it all off? can't look "badly done" if there's nuttin there
Dubplatestyle: i've done that. twice. i dont like it. it takes a good month + for it to grow back. i'm just gonna be a man, look like an idiot for a few weeks, and let it grow in
MitchAnon: i need a cut. but i sure as hell ain't gonna try and do it myself
Dubplatestyle: GOOD MAN
MitchAnon: i've never tried that, actually.
MitchAnon: it'll happen one day, no doubt
Dubplatestyle: it always starts out so well. and
then...snip...oops...a big hole. well, i could just have a big hole....and let it go...no, no...i'll try To FIX IT...and then you end up with a back of a head which looks like something scary girl punXors in the 70s would wear
MitchAnon: haw haw. still, if yr brave enuff, you may start a trend.
Dubplatestyle: yeah, professional nimrod.

jess, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

definitely dud, but then the same three people have cut my hair since I was six years old.

ditto. hmmmmm. mark, do you even like the haircut they give you? because i don't like mine. yet i STILL keep going back.

jess, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i always cut my fringe myself and it goes quite raggedy but i don't care because it is INDIE :):)

katie, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

not to be undertaken lightly, cutting your own hair. damn it if ambrose doesn't do a grand job and it is as far as i am concerned indistinguishable from a proffesional job costing many pounds. and what is with that by the way, hairdresers almost invariably give you what they want or at the best their interpretation of what they think you want, charge you a shit load of money and then leave you feeling like shit afterwards.

i cut my hair once when i was ickle, and i shall never attempt it again for fear of a repetition of the ensuing dire consequences. these days i am am fundamentaly opposed to haircuts and hairdressers in general, and my hair only got a very slight trim in five years in a vain attempt to prevent it knotting so much and hoping it might grow a bit. even then, i may stress that it was by someone i trusted a great deal, and only after lengthy discussion to establish acceptable parameters.

it stopped growing after two years, just off my shoulders and despite me really straining, refuses to get any longer. this is really unfair as i love long hair, and have even been known to fall in love with people over their hair, yet mine, although spiritually long is destined to appear for eternity as a half baked effort. grrr.

toraneko, i haven't yet decided which was your best hair style, it is giving me difficulties because owing to flattering photographs etc. i am not at the moment content with simply plumbing for the longest. did you do any of them yourself?

another james, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I should cut my own hair, given what happened to it this weekend. I asked for her to cut the bangs "a little shorter", which I guess she took to mean "I hate these bangs please cut them all off and just leave a little stubby protrustion of hair". My hair now looks like Jim Carrey's in Dumb and Dumber, at least in the front.

Nicole, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i cut my own hair. and it's cutetastic.

though admittedly, it does look -better- when i go to the salon and shell out more money than i spend on complete outfits to a man with a goofy accent and tattoos like a yakuza.

but still, i've scheduled myself an appt. for a haircut, tomorrow morning. me, my bathroom, a coupla mirrors, and crossed toes. i shall wish for better luck than jess.

nancy b., Thursday, 13 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(though actually he's surely still quite adorable, and probably even more so with his silly hair. maybe i shall just give myself silly hair too. hmmm.....)

nancy b., Thursday, 13 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
I cut my own hair, have been for years and it's looking pretty good just now. Sometimes I cut it pretty short. Anywhere from a very short 'butch' cut to a 'regular' haircut. Which is what I'm sporting right now. M

The last time I paid for a haircut was right before my wedding.

Dan Perry, Sunday, 3 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I always used to cut my own hair in the Punk days. Now I pay a ridiculous amount at an establishment in Soho to get it done, but I often end up having to hack more off myself when I get home (which is really annoying).

David Inglesfield, Sunday, 3 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Becka and Sara have offered to cut my hair. *gulp*

Graham, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

lady die cut hamish's hair yesterday and whilst there was a bit of frightened gasping at the time, i think it's really sexy; he's having a harder time fending me off now.

elizabeth anne marjorie, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)
