jess, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

(nb: i am staying home from work today, and maybe tomorrow, because i have accrued sick days and can't be arsed. [i'd be lying if i said the hair didn't have anything to do with it.] i'm fucking exhausted with my job, and can't shake the feeling that i'm going to be sacked soon anyway. i need to get my shit together to move, but i can't be arsed. i'm having the other kind of bad mood day. and i'm not enjoying it.)

where are you thinking of moving Jess? another city or just another place?

I was thinking of taking the afternoon off and going back to bed. enjoy it.

Understand the sentiments about the job. i like the people I work with but the job itself. dreary is too kind.

Ask for direction in your dreams and then sleep it off Jess.

"I Need Direction"

I used to feel fine you were to be mine I need direction to take me to you

I've asked the sunshine shadowed the skyline I need direction to take me to you

I get brainwaves I get visions slow reaction superstition

I need the ways and means to get through I need an open heart to look to nobody sees the same way I do I need direction to get through

followed the ley lines the faded out road signs I need direction to take me to you

I get spellbound I get visions slow advances indecision

I need the ways and means to get through I need an open heart to look to nobody sees the same way I do I need direction to get through

Honest I'd feel fine if you were to be mine I need direction to take me to you

Trevor, you have embarrassed yourself.

N., Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Not for the first time today, either.

Trevor, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Trevor, if it's any comfort my brain did exactly that on seeing this thread title. TFC = musical comfort food, like beans on toast. I can't help it.

Ellie, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

GO east, to Dublin. I have beer and food.

Ronan, Tuesday, 11 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hi Trevor, I thought it was a very nice poem! :) Anywhere you move to you will be happy. :) Gale

nancy b., Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It seemed wrong, but sounded so right.

Ronan, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"TFC = musical comfort food, like beans on toast."

If music be the food of love, I hope it isn't beans on toast!

Saying that, I wouldn't mind eating a plate of TFC every day. It would give me a warm glow inside.

Trevor, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Surely the reply is GIMME ALL YER LUVVIN by ZZ Top. You can practise air geetar and that is a good direction for a young mang such as yourself.

THE ONLY DIRECTION YOU NEED IS A KICK TO THE RSE! GET OPN YOUR 4 TRACK AND ROCK OUT! USE YOUR CASIO!

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Writing punky roXorsongs on my crappy four track using only strained larynx and detuned fender bass is my favourite form of catharsis.

Trevor, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Quit your job. Shave your head. And don't take my advice.
