Is anyone aware of the latest trend in dressing Santa in non-red clothing? I just went to the shop down the road to get a chicken baguette and theres Santa near the window dressed in what looks like beige pyjamas! I was duly informed by the shopkeep that "its all the rage". What are they doing to Santie? Whats next? A kimono?

Last week one of my friends was singing in choir at a hospital and got hit on by Santa and now is aggravated by red crushed velvet, so maybe it's not so wrong. Old Santa, New Danger, kids!

I think it's a good thing. They should select a colour for them which plays down the purplish hues of 'Boozer's Nose'. Most Santas I've encountered appear to have spent the bulk of the previous year not at the 'North Pole' as they claimed, but instead in pubs and bottle shops.

I can't believe it Santa has been dressed in red for more than 100 years. Why change him now??? What kind of people are over there?

This is a bit of a 'use other facts please' but wasn't our vision of Santa invented by Coca Cola anyway? I think it's time we had a change. I'm not sure that beige pyjamas is the way to go, though. How about a Sergio Tachini tracksuit? And maybe a headband.

Nick is OTM RE: Coca-Cola. I think Astro-Santa or Dandy-Santa would be good.

It is high time that Santa were abolished altogether. It is little short of scandalous that we are even thinking about vulgar Christmas at a time of war and conflict on a global scale. I for one shall certainly abstain from eating "turkey" and "pudding," preferring instead to have my television set permanently tuned to CNN in order to keep abreast of current developments and issues in the great debate as this will furnish me with the nous to indicate precisely what people tend to forget at the end of the day. And if more people did as I fully intend to do Britain would be GREAT AGAIN.

I have spoken my piece and done so with admirable aplomb.
