Exercise, and lose a stone in the process

Look for a job PROPERLY, and get one I really want

CREATE something, doesn't really matter what (or how good it is)

Get some fucking self-discipline for a change

lose at least a stone
write something (preferably songs)
give up smoking

chris, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

coo, mine are exactly the same as Mark C's! also, to drink less BOUZE. also, to stop coming in pissed and giving my poor boyfriend a hard time. also, to stop buying useless tat, i don't care how cheap it is. yesterday i bought 2 lighters from SAinsbury's cos they were buy one get one free. I DON'T EVEN SMOKE! but convinced myself they would be good for lighting hippy incense sticks.

katie, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd quite like to learn to drive. This is not, er, U&K, though.

Will, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

think properly about a change of career, or just a change of job.

see more gigs

be less flippant on ILE

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am very disappointed that all the boys seem to want to lose a stone too, I like to think of them as being carefree and not worrying about such petty things.

I can't think of any resolutions cos I sure as hell ain't giving up the fags or booze.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd quite like to put a stone on. My body issues are the other way around.

Will, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

lose a stone, grow hair to sabbaf length, learn to drive, start new career during summer with conviction, finish my stories, be awesome creative catalyst on mate's album, goto london in new year and see wot thee fuss is about, exercise even more, play guitar more, stop worrying about ILxz who i will probably never meet[and i do worry gentle reader], stop posting to ILz and be a shifty gwei-lo fer a while.

Lose some weight. Doesn't matter how much really - reversing the trend is the point.

Get better at handling money.

Visit America.

Various personal things.

Various writing things.

Tom, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

every year I tell myself I will be honest with people, tell them what I really think of them. I never do though. I can't be bothered with weight/ appearance or any resolutions really, they are not going to encourage me to give up anything that I have not given up/Started just because it is a new year

Menelaus Darcy, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Losing a stone is overrated. I've just lost one and still need to lose another!

erm... I gave up New Years Resolutions as a NY's Resolution about 10 or 12 years ago.

I should probably break that resolution (it was the first one I never broke) and resolve to get a job. Yes. There's my new years resolution; I shall Get A Job.

kate, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Get rid of everything in my flat. Get rid of flat. Get myself a laptop. Leave, for good.

K-reg, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

twelve years pass...

my new years resolution is to dance. i more or less stopped dancing in 2013 and that was some bullshit

flopson, Thursday, 2 January 2014 02:28 (twelve years ago)

one year passes...

Last year my new year's musical resolution was to listen to all of Dylan's 70s albums, which I kept! (Desire is so underrated!)

I need a new one. Right now leading contenders are finally get around to checking out Low, or listen to every Pink Floyd album (I know the bigger releases).
other suggestions?

six years pass...

Feel like this is a classic case of Use Other Words.
