Looking for Good Art

For our new house, we would really like to get some original paintings or drawings by super-talented, yet to break through, artists. Is there a place on the net for new artists selling their work?

You may have to wade through a lot of crap, but some artists sell on eBay because the commerce engine has such reach: http://search.ebay.com/painting_W0QQfsopZ1QQfromZR3QQsacatZ550

I've never bought any art there, but it may be worth a look.

There are zillions. I can't list any off hand because almost all I've seen are very dreary to sift through. Best advice (not knowing where you live) is to go to local galleries, especially non-profits, and buy work through them. The work is usually very reasonably priced and if you are near a metropolitan area or good college/university, there is substantative, (sp) thoughtful, and cheap art to be found.

Local artists will thank you.

Bart Galloway was studying at U of Miss and doing a crazy radio show called The Meatlocker when I worked there. Portraiture and abstracts.
