my iriver h10 doesnt work, can anybody help me?

i got it brand new and when i plug it in i get a message basically saying 'usb device not recognized'. ive tried a whole lot of things and ive read all the faqs and all the forums at iriver.com but no solutions yet! it seems a whole lot of people have the same problem too. im getting more and more depressed by the prospect that there is no solution - but i am posting here anyway on the remote chance that someone will be able to help me fix it!

I had the same problem with an old iriver, I had to replace the usb cable and then it worked fine. This happened after about a year of wear and tear and should not be happening on a brand new unit. If your other usb devices are working fine, return it and exchange it.
