Choose wisely, or choose not at all.

I never saw the latter, but Tuff Turf wins by a country mile if only for the inclusion of the Jim Carroll Band (doesn't Jim even have a speaking part?), and the little girl from Escape from Witch Mountain allllll grown up.

I think my biggest problem with The New Kids was that one of the scary Floridian rednecks who takes part in the persecution of the titular new kids in town is depicted wearing a Give'em Enough Rope (the Clash) t-shirt, begging the question: what sort of self-respecting, violent, backwoods Floridian redneck listened to the Clash?

My cousin Brandy's actually a lot like that, as is her husband Danny (who used to listen to the Dead Kennedys and now he wishes he were Tim McGraw and drives all over the country). I must see The New Kids.

John Cameron Mitchell is in Band of the Hand if I'm not mistaken. I've never seen Tuff Turf.

I am saddened Dan has said nothing on this thread yet.

Alex, did you know that little girl also grew up to be Paris Hilton's aunt?

twelve years pass...

Just watched Tuff Turf for the first time (had never even heard of it). Fairly weird movie, but strangely watchable despite its… deficiencies. Some nice ‘80s L.A. locations, and Olivia Barash (Leila from Repo Man) in a minor role… someone even wears a Repo Man shirt in the background of one shot.
