Also, if I am having a non-breakfast cereal, I would never have both a glass of orange juice and a glass of milk.

So they obliged. They were not happy making it either. I actually ate everything, too. What was I thinking? They should have put my hand in the gas burner, or held me over a dumpster or something. I was an awful fucking kid.

I think on the road, at a restaurant, I've had pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. but no fruit. and i always just get water when eating out (well unless someone else is paying, and I'll have a beer or 6) cause i'm thrifty.

I've grown to dislike orange juice from a can/bottle. I only want it fresh now.
Now I have the mysterious (rice)bread from Japan topped with Honey-Chocolate. YUM.

The other weekend Ed brought back fresh-laid farm eggs from one of his camping jaunts. They were the nicest, freshest eggs I've ever had, and made the most incredibly yellow scramblies I've ever cooked.
I like two slices of bacon and sausage (one Cumberland or two chipolatas) with a fried egg and really nice buttered toast, chased with a very strong cup of milky tea or nice coffee. I only like fried tomatoes if Ed does them (we are in a phase where we have really lovely cherry tomatoes from Borough Market).
If I'm really loading it on I make home fries: sautee half an onion, chopped, in a frying pan (either with the fat from cooking bacon and sausage or with butter). Add chopped-up leftover chips (ideally from a fish and chip supper a day or two before), salt, pepper and a couple of crushed-up pepperoncini. Deglaze with a shot-glass of water (this helps flavour to mingle) and leave the potatoes to one side on a low heat so the bottom crisps, then flip, assemble the breakfast, add the potatoes to the plate. It's also nice to finish the home fries and then as a final step (with fries still in pan) make space for the eggs - sunny side up, bleeding into the crispiest bits of home fries and showered in black pepper.
See, there's good reasons why we only do this once a week!
One thing that purely does not exist in Britain that I miss from America: sausage patties. To the point where I sometimes remove the sausage casings before cooking and patty them up myself.

My favourite everyday breakfast is one soft-boiled egg divided between two slices of buttered toast with TONS of freshly ground black pepper and a pinch of sea salt on top. I could live on this as basic rations.
