Spinning vaguely off from the fat girls thread.

Is it racist to find [gender of your choice] of one race less attractive than [goyc] of another?

Simple answer: No.

Less simple answer: it depends on how you define "racism".

Alternative simple answer: Yes.

Take your pick!

I actually feel attacted to African and Chinese women more than any other. They just seem inherently beautiful to me! And Klingon women of course.

OK. I went to good old Dictionary dot com and got these definitions. According to #2 of each definition, doing what you suggest technically carnstitoots "racism".

I should have thought out my answers prior to multiple postings! Anyhoo - do you have to make a consistent GOYC??? I mean, I wouldn't call it racist to find men of Hispanic descent less attractive than women of Chinese descent...

For me, I suspect there's some kind of security thing going on, but I very, very seldom fancy non-caucasian women. That's just all there is to it. I have done, I will do again, but it's a very rare event.

And if any fucker goes as far as to hint that this has racist undertones, I'll lamp them one.

Taking it one step further, I find porcelain-skinned, red- or dark- haired women more attractive than olive-skinned or tanned. In fact, the "English Rose" stereotype is about as close as you can get to pinpointing my pronciple tastes. Hence the familiarity/security angle - being English, middle-class and coddled, these are the types I've always been surrounded by, have had experiences with, yadda yadda. The "other" obviously frightens poor little me.

Actually, my first girlfriend, before I immersed myself in the whole girls-are-my-life thing, was Chinese. Does this prove or disprove what I was saying? The former, I think.

MarkC, that has racist undertones!

Kodanshi, Wednesday, 12 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)
