how scared?

on a day to day basis, do you think you are a scared person? does fear stop you from doing the things that you feel you really want to do? if it does, does this make you question whether you really wanted to do these things at all?

do you see fear as being a negative, inhibiting emotional response, or do you think that it serves a necessary function, in making you question whether or not your prospective course of action is wise? how often do you let it stop you from doing things?

do you tend to be afraid in new areas or unfamiliar surroundings? does the prospect of meeting new people genuinely worry you? do you feel that allowing fear to dictate what you can and can't do is something that you will, or would, have cause to regret very much in the future?

I am not fearless, but I rarely fear things.
I worry, but enjoy most of each day.
I don't like public humiliation,
but I know that I'm stonger than it.

But I wasn't always this way.

waiting for tests

midge url (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 21 July 2009 15:26 (sixteen years ago)

what kind of tests? yours or partner's? sorry dude, waiting for test results is horrific - i had to go through this recently and it sickened me to my stomach. every time the phone rang over the course of the 5hours i was waiting, i was expecting extremely bad news.

ah i shouldn't have brought this up but yeah anyway cat scan. but anyway i hope your tests turned out well just1n3. and yeah i can't think of anything else

yep still alive and posting!

i think it's natural to get freaked out and want to talk about it, or not even necessarily talk about it, just know that ppl are waiting with you. imo, there are two ways of dealing with it:
a. total denial that there's even a possibility things might not turn out well
b. making plans for worst case scenario. you'd be surprised how effective this can be, knowing that if the worst happens you have some kind of plan to deal with it (even if, in reality, it's a stupid plan and there's no way you'll likely follow it)

What were you being tested for.

they "saw something" on a chest x-ray....a "globular opacity" or something...and made be go back for a chest CAT scan cuz the doctor was worried

so you know...former smoker...chest x-ray, spot on the lungs, you can see where my mind went....

Did you have to drink the Kool-Aid and then hold your breath?

The CAT scanner I've been in has this cute little Pac-Man face that holds his breath with tiny cheeks full of air and then blows out when it's time to exhale.
