I had to drive from NYC to New Haven during the worst of Hurricane Floyd, it was not fun at all.
But last year, in about August, the hot and muggy weather of weeks was finally broken by a thunderstorm. We were at a house party in Essex at the time, and ever so slightly drunk. I was so overjoyed at the prospect of no longer being hot and sticky that I ran out into the rain and danced around the garden to the beat of the thunder for nearly half an hour. My friends all thought I'd lost it, but then again, they frequently think that.
