Hateful Earrings

My Mum and my dad came back from Europe last night, and really kindly bought me back some earrings, I know I will never wear them because mum and I just have really different tastes, they were obv really expensive cause they are gold etc. But should I let them just moulder in my jewellery box or should I give them back to her, cause I'm sure she would like them and wear them or maybe give them too my auntie? help

i have no help to offer, sadly. I wish i knew what to do. my mom gets me all sorts of strange things, like little dragon and crytal ball nick nacks that you get in those mall carts.

I think you should give them a wear a couple of times, to show willing, then say "they're just not me" and hand them over.

Is she easily upset? If she is, better to just take them and wear them on her birthday or something. If she can take it, tell her you really appreciate the thought, but they aren't your taste.

By "her" I mean Lindsay Lohan, of course.

Apologetically tell her they're beautiful and you really appreciate it and yes, they're lovely, but they're just not your taste. Then say how awesome they would look on her.

This is not the first time I have done this, she always buys me earrings I hate, the difference is this time they came from Italy so we can't go back and choose them together.
It's nice that she keeps on buying me these things but why does she do it when every time I don't like it? I've already told her not to buy me more things because our tastes are just sooo different. All I wear is quite scare art deco stuff and these are a flower and a watering can, wacky middle aged woman earrings.
I really appreciate the thought but I just don't know how to make her stop! I know I'm spoiled.

All I wear is quite scare art deco stuff and these are a flower and a watering can, wacky middle aged woman earrings.

save them until you are 50 and can appreciate their whimsy
