It could have changed the world. There could have been RockStar gum by now, as well; or is there?

Ew, I think I actually was into this at some point.

RS (Catalino) LaRue (RSLaRue), Friday, 10 June 2005 21:29 (twenty years ago)

You mean it's gone?

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 10 June 2005 21:31 (twenty years ago)

I don't think it's gone, but it's Orbit et al have stolen the boutique gum fire.

andy --, Friday, 10 June 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

Is salty gum outdated?

andy --, Friday, 10 June 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

I know they still make bubble gum that looks like chewing tobacco.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 10 June 2005 21:39 (twenty years ago)

Thank jehovah. Two kinds of chew: Big League Plug and Tape-Gum in a chew-like tin.

andy --, Friday, 10 June 2005 21:44 (twenty years ago)

grape big league chew is awesome

I used to save nickels for the express purpose of buying gatorgum at the local sports store

it was glorious being nine years old

Hell yes.

andy --, Friday, 10 June 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

GatorGum had a certain mystique. It was like adult gum, like Chlorettes or something. Or AYDS chocolate dieting chews.

andy --, Friday, 10 June 2005 21:49 (twenty years ago)

I met someone at the New Order DJ set after their show in New York who was toting a full pack of Big League Chew. She didn't offer me any, though, she just wanted to show it off. :(

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 10 June 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

They have changed the man on the front of the package to have less neck hair.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 10 June 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

is GatorGum the same as that Mueller stuff they'd sell at sports stores, that would make your lips go inside your mouth?

oops (Oops), Friday, 10 June 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

wait wait wait those who miss gatorgum will surely enjoy LeBron's Lightning Lemonade gum!!

gatorgum was DELICIOUS, very tangy. just thinking about it teases my taste buds.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

It lost all its flavour in about 10 seconds but it was good. Good feeling = the jaw ache from putting an entire pack of Big League Chew in your mouth at once.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 11 June 2005 03:46 (twenty years ago)

Dude, Gatorgum was refreshing dude!!!! Big league chew was so try and dusty

Cool Hand Luuke (ex machina), Saturday, 11 June 2005 03:49 (twenty years ago)

I got da juice.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 11 June 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

GatorGum's big gimmick was that it was the gum that would quench your thirst.....which is, well, odd. (I mean, why not just drink something?)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 11 June 2005 03:52 (twenty years ago)

Alex, don't be such a rockist!

Cool Hand Luuke (ex machina), Saturday, 11 June 2005 03:59 (twenty years ago)

What was that chocolate gum called? It was poopy. Maybe the "wanna piece of gum? CHEW MY RUBBER BUM!" joke just went too far.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 11 June 2005 04:02 (twenty years ago)

It's not very easy to drink WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING IN THE OUTFIELD.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Saturday, 11 June 2005 04:11 (twenty years ago)

I seem to remember it simply made me more thirsty.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 11 June 2005 04:15 (twenty years ago)

now we've got altoid sours! which are too damn expensive.

metal assembly (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 11 June 2005 04:44 (twenty years ago)

JD from CDepot, Sunday, 12 June 2005 01:44 (twenty years ago)

metal assembly (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 12 June 2005 03:26 (twenty years ago)
