strng hlkngtn, Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:21 (twenty years ago)

luckily i didn't have anything "important" to do today, or any reason to leave the house at all.

metal assembly (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

i haven't slept since waking up yesterday morning.

hstencil (hstencil), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:25 (twenty years ago)

Did you stay up all night and go to bed in the morning? Or did you sleep for 18 hours?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:35 (twenty years ago)

ME TOO! But then I have an excuse cos I was up all night.

dog latin (dog latin), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

i wasn't up all night! and i did wake up in the morning to use the bathroom or something, but i promptly fell back asleep.

metal assembly (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

i woke up this morning thanks to an earthquake

something about a tarantula coming out of a coconut (deangulberry), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

OK, I've never done that (unless I was sick or hungover). My record is sleeping until 3PM or so.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

er, xpost

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

I've slept through/been unaware of every single damned earthquake since I moved to L.A., except for one.

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

ahh sleep - teacher, mother, secret lover.

i go through periods of insomnia where i dont sleep for days (i think 4 days straight is my record) and then i go through months where i might be awake for only a couple of hours between friday night and sunday morning. i figure it all evens out. the trick is not freaking out about how tired youll be in the daylight hours if youre an insomniac and not freaking out about all the stuff you could have done if youre an all day sleeper.

sunny successor (katharine), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

last night's quake was alright

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:45 (twenty years ago)

Well, I was in Los Angeles and was rattled.

something about a tarantula coming out of a coconut (deangulberry), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:48 (twenty years ago)

Didn't feel it at all. A friend one city over was surprised at that, she felt it. Strange!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

It was one of those rolling things, and I was like "oo somebody out in the desert is getting it!". You can tell when they come from far away, they do that gentle rocking, I kind of like it. But I did not like Northridge. Too close.

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:54 (twenty years ago)

crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:55 (twenty years ago)

its not like a bang? i experienced an earth tremor when i was a kid and i thought the fridge had blown up - just one big bang. then there was an earthquake in newcastle. i was in sydney and again it was like a bang

sunny successor (katharine), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:00 (twenty years ago)

that's when you're right on top of it.

Orbit (Orbit), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:01 (twenty years ago)

ooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmm

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Monday, 13 June 2005 00:02 (twenty years ago)

Sometimes it's like a bang and then fades out. sometimes it grows, peaks, and fades out.

In any case, they usually wake me up. Sometimes I talk to a friend who didn't wake up.

Super Cub (Debito), Monday, 13 June 2005 04:12 (twenty years ago)

also beauty and the geek

metal assembly (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 13 June 2005 04:18 (twenty years ago)

That newcastle earthquake was strange - is it even on a fault line? I didnt think it was.

I can happily stay in bed all day (did just that yesterday - party recovery, only strayed out of bed to grab food) but I cant actually SLEEP more than about 10 hours.. except when I was sick with glandular, then I'd be in this druglike sleepy state I couldnt get out of for days on end.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 13 June 2005 04:36 (twenty years ago)

I was awake till about 1am on Saturday morning, then got up at 7am, walked the dogs for two hours, then went back to bed at 1pm and slept till 6pm. Brilliant. But, like Trayce, I haven't actually slept all day since I had glandular fever.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 13 June 2005 05:53 (twenty years ago)

this is never a good thing to do, but the worst is during the weekend. you rob yourself of Not At Work time AND fuck up your sleep schedule.

oops (Oops), Monday, 13 June 2005 06:58 (twenty years ago)

i'm going on 40 hours no sleep.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 13 June 2005 07:28 (twenty years ago)

oops (Oops), Monday, 13 June 2005 07:30 (twenty years ago)

i keep a clean house, oops.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 13 June 2005 07:32 (twenty years ago)

I did this last week cause I felt nauseous. Migraine + pregnancy = major dud. I usually just end up watching telly.

nathalie's post modern sleaze fest (stevie nixed), Monday, 13 June 2005 08:21 (twenty years ago)

Onward and upward, I suppose.

But who are we doing it versus? (sunny successor), Saturday, 11 February 2023 03:10 (three years ago)
