Maybe this will have the reverse effect of the "flush this question out" thread.

Ian Riese-Moraine: exposing ambitious careerists as charlatans since 1986. (East, Monday, 13 June 2005 12:18 (twenty years ago)

ILXors aren't that predictable, Ian. Trying to fuck with us, you bastard?!

geyser muffler and a quarter (Dave225), Monday, 13 June 2005 12:22 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but I'd like to see it stay here longer than "flush this question out" will!

If I cared at all, I would take that as a challenge. But screw it.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAID FUCK YOU! TO SOMEONE

What's my motivation in this scene?

Aimless (Aimless), Monday, 13 June 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

tittwis is an example of a thread that always stays in new answers, until it gets big enough that a new one has to be started. no one ever needs to search for it and it never gets "revived."

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 13 June 2005 15:03 (twenty years ago)

It almost fell out! Or was this the intention of this thread? I don't remember anymore! I remember nothing!

Well, this isn't working very well, is it?

Ian Riese-Moraine: exposing ambitious careerists as charlatans since 1986?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

I was born in 1986, and the phrase is a corruption of a Situationist slogan.

shake your booty, Napoleon, the whirring girl, and the guy on Leno are making Wire's "Map Ref. 41 Degrees North 93 Degrees West" seem even more awesome -- they're mesmerising to watch while listening to the song and bouncing your eyes back forth between each image as it inexplicably works with the song perfectly even though they're all moving at different speeds.

Ian Riese-Moraine: exposing ambitious careerists as charlatans since 1986. (East, Tuesday, 14 June 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

that makes sense

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

hm.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

You watch Leno?

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

I'd think only a person who's been living under a rock for the past twenty years wouldn't be able to recognize Leno's mug. Which, along with his clapping hands, is rather noticeable in that one .gif in question.

That grey-haired guy dancing spastically as if he was trying to dance in the middle of an earthquake -- that's Vince McMahon, right? He looks like Vince McMahon. Um. Yeah.

So I'm doing my part to "Keep this question in new answers". So.

Awww, thanks Dee, you're a sweetheart.

Question: Do you think Leno has ever listened to "Map Ref"?

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 23:15 (twenty years ago)

It seems unlikely.

Taste the Blood of Scrovula (noodle vague), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

I thought you were saying that he was talking about it on the show. I'd love it if his band leader guy said, "yeah, wire - they're awesome."

I bet Doc Severinson listens to Wire all the time.

geyser muffler and a quarter (Dave225), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

Should we revive this?

Or is there a "revive this thread when you don't see it anymore" thread somewhere?
