UK peeps: having connection trouble?

I realise this sounds like a slightly silly question, but are any other UK users having trouble connecting to ILX at the moment?

I can't get ILX through our BT Broadband connection. I thought at first that my boss had found some way of blocking it out, but it seems to be a routing problem on the wider internet. Has anyone else been having any connection trouble lately? Most other websites seem fine, it's just ILX I can't get; but, I don't read any other sites with servers geographically close to ilx.p3r.net.

(I am posting this through the other office internet connection, which is a satellite downlink somewhere in The Netherlands.)

No, not at all. Works fine work + home.

Me too, I keep getting timeouts going through my BT connection. I did a tracert and it went through about 17 routers then timed out at ge-0.linx.londen03.uk.bb.verio.net

... or whatever the router is that's after that.

Yup, that's the same point that my traceroute stops.

(so as it's a Verio fault, and not actually a BT one, there's little point in me whinging to BT about it)

Might not be related but...

It sounds vague enough to be the problem. Most BT service alerts tell you *which* areas are affected - if you phone up their Business Broadband fault-report line, it starts with a long recorded announcement of a list of telephone exchanges with known faults.

i'd have to get another job. it's the only thing that gets me through the day.

For the record, I'm on BT and having the same problems.

I'm on BT and had problems this afternoon.

I couldn't get ILX on my home BT connection until about 15 minutes ago - so that's about 8 hours that it was inaccessible for.

Livejournal was also inaccessible for the same reason for some of that time, but not all of it.

BT has just binned me out of ILX again. Every other site I have bookmarked works fine.

I think someone is paying BT to reduce UK Internet skiving.

It's been working for me all day, as far as I could tell.

(I mean, I had to take a break now and again and do some work)

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 16 June 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

It's fine again now, just a wee glitch.
