jody l'anti-vierge (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 19 June 2005 08:58 (twenty years ago)

what is the best thing to dip in it?

jeremy jordan (cruisy), Sunday, 19 June 2005 08:59 (twenty years ago)

Mmmmmm, Taramasalata is more addictive than crack hummus. Mind, I'm not sure it's meant to be as pink as that one at the top.

RS (Catalino) LaRue (RSLaRue), Sunday, 19 June 2005 13:41 (twenty years ago)

what is taramasalata?

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 19 June 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

It's a dip made from carp roe (but I think supermarket brands might use smoked Cod or Mackerel roes). I've seen expensive taramasalata that didn't look very pink at all, and I think the pinkness is often a result of food colouring, but apparently carp roe is often bright pink.
