That people seem to actually care. I'm not sure if this is a result of posters' internet publishings, well-known online personas or meeting outside the internet. I enjoy ILX, but it is a foolish hobby, really, more of a time-killing weakness than anything else.

Why Anthony, I'm hurt. ;-) But I like being known as a befuddler.

To Nude -- well, why not care? I think of it this way -- there is no reason not to care. I don't carry around the burdens of the board with me or anything, I doubt anyone does. But I do like all of you. This is good time wasting fun, yes -- but I had a number of friends appear on this board, while meeting new ones as well. :-)

The quirks that befuddle me? Merely my annoyance when I can't post as much as I would like, like these past few days, having been busy. Gah!

Anyway, LOTR then. Did you know that the first edition underwent some revision to...*wibbles on for hours*

I care because I know a lot of the people who post here, quite simply.

I was bemused for ages about how much people liked ILE and how much it seemed to be different to other internet message boards. I still am a little bemused by that, I mean, The ILE Awards.....crazy stuff, but none of this is bad stuff, I'm not criticising.

Also with regard to the people caring thing, I think if you care enough to post here regularly then it's a little bit rich coming out with that. I don't think anyone actually goes around worrying about ILE all day, but this I don't care thing is ILE's version of chatrooms favourite "get a life you nerds*.

I hope noone goes around worrying about ILE all day anyway : )

I worry about people on ILE sometimes. ILE itself I occasionally want to be swallowed up by the very earth but that's fairly common too. Usually this is when ILE busts my deadlines.

Yay! Ned Raggett loves me & my vile ways. I will now tell everyone about our friendship. =:-D>

Ronan, I meant that people "seem to actually care" as they would in real life, with reputations at stake and all that. I practically feel like a different person almost every time I post here, posting in whatever style amuses me with regard to whatever interests me at the moment. One day I want to take a poll, one day I want to hear others' experiences, the next day I want to post nothing but idiocy, the next day I want to FITE. If the ILX boards closed down due to funding, I've a feeling a lot of people might care, but I'd just go to another time-killing board and assume another identity. There is a more analytical group of people on ILX, which makes it quite interesting at times, though, with an interesting sense of humor, too.

I have a friend who seems curiously comfortable doing that in front of anyone really. Yeah. Odd.
