roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 20 June 2005 18:26 (twenty years ago)

in another couple of weeks it'll be MONSOON SEASON here.

jody l'anti-vierge (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 20 June 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

Minnesota! Storm's done now. But: flashcrack o'lightning just a second ago. Zero time elapsed between light and sound and I SWORE I heard some branches go.

giboyeux (skowly), Monday, 20 June 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

That was an anticlimactic storm, but a great build-up. It got 9pm dark for awhile there.

Are you also in MN? Yeah: scary dark for a while, phone calls from all the neighbors (country folk do that) and then: meh. The dog didn't even get all that worked up.

giboyeux (skowly), Monday, 20 June 2005 19:35 (twenty years ago)

Yep. I am of Minnesota. South metro, soon to be metro.

in portland last night, we had a lightning storm and a double-rainbow at the same time.

kingfish (Kingfish), Monday, 20 June 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

Was driving through Portland during that storm. The rainbow was one of the brightest I've ever seen. A very satisfactory storm. Saw very little lightning, though.

I'm south-ish, myself. Outside of Hastings.

giboyeux (skowly), Monday, 20 June 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

Outside of Hastings.

Some cityfolk might call that "Rochester."

Headline: "YOUNG SNARKY INDUSTROPRINCEPERVERTALIST MAKES GOOD"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 June 2005 01:05 (twenty years ago)

"Snarky" would never fly in the H4stings Star Gazette.

Eating soggy newspaper to survive.

IT'S MONSOON SEASON

jody heatherton (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 02:05 (twenty years ago)

the thread title reminds me of fourth grade, when somehow "Storm's a-brewing!" became code for "I'm about to fart!"

teh Nü and Impröved john n chicago (frankE), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

that's gross

jody heatherton (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

We're due some Hurricane Emily rain over the next couple of days. Can't wait.

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

it's been windy as a fucker here today, vianno tormente indeed.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

I don't think we've had a day without a good freakish downpour here now for approximately 10 days.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

It's raining pretty hard here. Doesn't look good for the APARTMENT COMPLEX POOL PARTY that was scheduled tonight.

(it's actually good because it's been quite a dry season)

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

the storm last night was very impressive.

jody heatherton (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 14:38 (twenty years ago)

It's been EXTREMELY dry here too, until this spillover-from-hurricane storm came along and popped the proverbial squat over the bluegrass.

I love the stormy weather, only, it is frustrating that it keeps on reaching the pouring, wind-blowing-sideways stage of stormdom every afternoon as I'm on my way to pick up the boy.
