It's not worth it at this point...

But the tropics!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 June 2005 17:30 (twenty years ago)

The implication clearly being that the cocksuckers have it better off than they deserve.

...but it is, it's just that most everyone with a conscience is saying It's not worth it at this point...

"Gee, honey, they must be getting A/C and a daily massage like when we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. Fuckers. They probably have a better golf course too."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 June 2005 17:32 (twenty years ago)

Reading that stuff just makes me angry to the point of paralysis tho...

Full transcription of the Cheney/Blitzer exchange:

THE VICE PRESIDENT: The treatment they're getting -- they got a brand new facility down at Guantanamo. We spent a lot of money to build it. They're very well treated down there. They're living in the tropics. They're well fed. They've got everything they could possibly want. There isn't any other nation in the world that would treat people who were determined to kill Americans the way we're treating these people.

Cheney makes it sound like they were staying at the Marriott resort I was! And I sure didn't see no goddamned Taliban there!

Ya...it is semi-surreal. Like that it's so absurd that it can't be true.

20% nod in agreement.
20% says WTF!
And 60% don't know who Cheney is.

When I saw "Farenheit 9/11," here in Oak Park, the leftiest of lefty enclaves, the person behind me chuckled when she saw Paul Wolfowitz, nudged her friend and said "that's Dick Cheney."

We live in a nation of morons (which is why I'm surprised the U.S. has such a hard time getting along with others).

If you're gonna lie about Gitmo, you might as well lie about your health:

Allright, who wants to break into the next meeting Cheney attends "behind closed doors" and have gay sex with me so we can give him a coronary?

Ian Riese-Moraine eats nation-states for breakfast! (Eastern Mantra), Saturday, 25 June 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

Shouldn't it be "have gaysex with him"?

peepee (peepee), Saturday, 25 June 2005 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Ian is willing to sacrifice all.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 25 June 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

According to yesterday's New York Times they have "on site" physicians and psychaitrists who consult w/the torture, er interrogation. That's more medical attention than most US citizens get. And they're provided w/copies of the Holy Koran. Have to fish the holy book out of the toilet and drip-dry the pages, but still...
