They weep for you.

it's the moisture in the air condensing due to the colder temperature of the cups and glasses. no leaks, sorry.

(some ceramics are porous all weathers i think)

Generally not the ones that get used for cups, though.

unless condensation has developed chameleon-like abilities since my last science class, Allnighter's explanation does not address my concerns in re:this milky tea puddle

jones (actual), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:31 (nineteen years ago)

first off, no, hot weather should not affect ceramics. these things are fired at insanely high temps, a measly 30-40C is nothing to them.

2nd, your glasses shouldnt be leaky at all, ever, unless it's got cracks in it.

ok the teacup did have a crack – sorry everyone! false alarm

(fortunately it's too hot to be embarrassed by this or anything else)

jones (actual), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

keen readers will note i am drinking hot beverages to stay cool

jones (actual), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

milky puddles of tea have no consciousness and therefore cannot feel embarrassment.

Another Allnighter (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

yes the heat has also melted the glue between pronouns and their antecedents

It is claerly because glass is a liquid which longs to return to its miasmatic shape...
