So i was walking to sev to pick up ice cream and chocolate milk . Sev is in a parking lot with a huge bar. 15 boys in wifebeaters, blue jeans and baseball caps were surrounding a pick up truck.I had a choice, walk in the light but near the truck or walk in the dark but away from the truck. I walked near the truck, they yelled at me first. Called me faggot and cocksucker. I walked faster towards the store ( David isnt feeling well, he needs his pick me ups.) They came closer , almost surrounding me. I felt like a rabbit put upon by wolves. The leader asked me " Whats a fruit like you doing out". I did not respond . I kept walking , walking into Seven Eleven . I picked up my groceries and left walking close to the main road. They seemed to be following me . I ran home, they cornered me by the cross lights. They demanded an apology for disrespect. I ran top speed trying despratly to get home . I am at home now and the doors are locked. I'm okay but scared .

God, I'm sorry, Anthony. That's really fucking crap. It's at times like these that I wish my friends carried guns... "Disrespect this, asshole..." but that's probably not the best option, is it?

::hugs::

I wanted to ass rape them in the parking lot. I am not hurt, thought i was going to shed blood.

If it's any consolation, people like that always piss off the wrong person sooner or later, preferably sooner. The worst bullies I knew from back home, two of them have been shot to death recently, can't say I was too broken up over it. Karma's a bitch.

tarden, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Karma will visit them, oh yes indeedy. I sincerely hope there isn't a next time, but if you find yourself in the situation again, do this:

If you have a cellphone, text in the license plate number of the vee- hickle. Then, from safety of home or convenience store, ring police. If you live somewhere vaguely metropolitan, they should have gay liaison or similar to speak to. People like that don't have the right to infringe your freedoms, and depending on the scale of abuse they could be committing assault. Book 'em, Dano.

I do not belive in mobiles . I will call the liason on monday

anthony, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Hm, to see the looks on their faces when they realize they're being busted for idiocy. Oh, the joy. I send good psychic karma towards you and I also send a further psychic message for the worst badass in the bunch to come out to his friends (working under the assumption that the most virulent character in such situations is also the most closeted). That should piss some people off.

I'm sending a voodoo real estate agent curse upon the fuckers; have you read any James Robert Baker - his stuff kicks the shit out of homopobes and right wingers.

There's a GRATE scene in Baby Boy where Tyrese's gangsta friend and he go hunt down the punks who went after him, then hold a gun to them and make them stand in line while they just punch them around. Fantasy sure, but still...

Sterling Clover, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

don't bother going to cops about shit like this unless you can be bothered w/ dealing w/ them (cops) for fuckin hours & are prepared to stand up in court & blah blah blah & then even then probably nuthin will happen. tarden's right about guys like that tho' - live by shoving people around & shit, sooner or later get BEAT THE HELL UP. maybe even (we all hope) KILLED. Too bad you won't be there to watch.

duane, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Duane, I don't agree. Anthony lives in a town with a Gay/Lesbian liaison officer, who at the very least needs the STATS and at the very most will catch the fuckers (a number plate and descriptions are a good start to making that happen). You have no idea if these people have been doing regular queerbashing and neither do I, but the liaison will also have that information. Anthony will feel a smidgen less a victim regardless of whether the bullies get karmic-reamed.

suzy, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Dunno if it helps, Anthony: but chances are GOOD that your day most days = far far better than their day most days, else why would they be gurnin' around this sad ugly way. I know this not your time of times, you've said: but EVEN SO. Envy is a kind of a compliment (tho of course not always a compliment delivered in a pretty way).

suzy, yeah yr probly right. i don't know. i just know dealing with the law is a bunch of pain whether yr in the right or no. sorry if i'm just being negative.

duane, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

David went to the bar owner today and told them that if he didnt make sure everyone was safe he would sue his ass. Got the name of most of the 15. They are regular. Apparently a lawsuit from a jew in a suit makes the supid and hateful fear.

anthony, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Your David is a good man, Anthony. The only way to make SOME people anything other than complacent about the rights of others is by a direct hit to the wallet, or the threat thereof. Tactical suiting and booting RULES.

suzy, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

He is . He has his problems but i think i will keep him .

anthony, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

I hope those morons get what they deserve anthony. Full marks to David for throwing a bit of legal-weight around.

stevo, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

yeah well that sounds like a much more hopeful situation (legally & shit) than what i imagined. GET 'EM!!! i hate people like that so much. don't you wish though that something could happen that'd CHANGE them? 'cause what really happens. they go into a prison where they just get in deeper to that way of living & that way of "thinking". you (we) don't see 'em for a while & don't have to think about 'em for a while but they come out next year harder & less human & more full of hate. oh man just thinking about that stuff fills me with despair.

duane, Saturday, 14 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

i think you guys are brave to go ahead with legal action against them & stuff tho'. i wouldn't be. & i'd act like it was all because, you know "i'm a bad ass, i hate cops & judges & lawyers", all that. so GOOD ON YOU.

duane, Sunday, 15 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Can believe I only just saw this. Those people put you in immediate fear of harm which, under English law at least, is assault. They can be busted. Damn them.

Paul Strange, Monday, 16 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Hey Anthony, I just read your update on this situation in another thread and I have to say...way to go! I wonder if I would have handled it as sensibly and bravely as you and David if I was in the same situation. I kinda doubt it.
