How strange; ILx ate my post.
The actual question went somewhat further. Whilst we can have our community edit pages, we'd rather than one where all edits were sent to a group of moderators for approval. Such powers tend to run counter to the wiki philosophy, so I can't find anything there, and wondered whether people here knew of any such thing as a moderated wiki?

isn't something like wikipedia done on a 'logged in' basis? couldn't you set up accounts for the moderators and then not allow any more registrations? then people could just email their changes. or use a webform.
or let everybody modify pages but notify moderators when changes occur so they can then undo them if required?

The latter still has the potential to be a pain in the arse as staff discover their to-do list is being knocked off course by having to read edits and decide whether to approve them.

isn't 'reading edits and deciding whether to approve them' pretty much the definition of moderation? which is least work depends on the general value of additions - if there are more good ones than bad ones then the undo route is going to be easier.
the problem we have with the wiki here is that nobody knows what's on there or, if they do know that something is available, where to find it. (i get around this by having a page of my own linked to everything i've written so as long as they know i wrote it they can find it easily enough)

people here want to save up edits for a time in the week they can set aside, rather than getting into work and finding someone has make all sorts of bad changes which need to be dealt with there and then.
