or did he just pose as one of the "children" pictured? (note that they appear to be standing ON said pile of crap)

Frequent viewing of this thing is currently an inescapable reality for all TTC commuters, and I have so many questions. Questions that involve flying buses, tiny humpbacked aliens wearing misshapen helmets, poor perspective and Jesus, mostly.

Thats.... very very strange.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 4 July 2005 04:30 (twenty years ago)

Why is "gas tax" in bold print?

Aja (aja), Monday, 4 July 2005 04:32 (twenty years ago)

I was really hoping I'd open this thread to a picture of a steaming pile of monkey crap.

But that is a real disaster there. Maybe they need to up the gas tax so they can hire a designer.

Does that make you feel any better?

Aja (aja), Monday, 4 July 2005 04:51 (twenty years ago)

Its the "they are here among us!" that weirds me out - like wtf? Are they MEANT to be scary buses?

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 4 July 2005 04:54 (twenty years ago)

I know! It sounds like a threat and the poster's all ooOOoooh, menacing, flying buses.

The greatest thing is that even though they obviously decided not to spend our tax dollars on some high end designer, they did decide to print up what seems to be thousands of these things.

I just needed to share my pain. Thanks ILE.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:26 (twenty years ago)

Can you steal one and send it to me? :D Do they have a website where one can order these? I love them =)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:27 (twenty years ago)

The bus is shooting lasers of death from its eyes.

tissp! (the impossible shortest specia), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:28 (twenty years ago)

It's possible. I think I should ask Sean C to get us a higher res picture so you can experience the full horrific effect. (camera phone version doesn't really do it justice)

Kim (Kim), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

I should just write to the T'ronno Gas Board or wtf ever is behind this and pretend Ive a primary school project to do haha =) I'll probably end up with a trunkload of canadian flags and stuff in my post.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:36 (twenty years ago)

or maybe they'll just send you a bus with the frickin' laser beams attached to its head.

None of this explains why Jesus is there.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:42 (twenty years ago)

hi there, that looksa like a bite of TfL's (transport for london) in bus ads that ran a few years ago, with virtually the same strap line, but a much better design and concept. i cant find a pic, maybe ed knows where to get one

transport people are really, really bad at marketing. tfl are pretty good though, i quite like their current "my other car is a bus" campaign

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:46 (twenty years ago)

mind you this one was not a good one. the theme was sort of 50s b movies. i think those toronto people saw it and sort of cocked it up

None of this explains why Jesus is there.

Because the Gas Tax delivers you FROM EVIL

tissp! (the impossible shortest specia), Monday, 4 July 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

There must be more of these kinds of posters surely? I love them!

Oh man that Watchful Eyes poster is alarming! Did they *mean* it to come across so Orwellian?

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 09:32 (twenty years ago)

It's pretty great though.
