I recommend this one for learning economic concepts without beng dragged down by the drearier mathematical aspects.

Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science by Charles Wheelan
John Kenneth Galbraith's Age of Uncertainty is good, if you can enjoy his writing style (which i do). It was the accompaniment to a late 70s BBC doc on economics.
