ORNALDO BLOOMPS FOR DARK ROMCOM

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

x-post

i saw this preview before war of the worldz and it was so irritating it has burrowed its way INTO MY BRANE.

latebloomer: the Clonus Horror (latebloomer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

deep deep into your prefrontal cortex of your brain, aghhhhhh it'll be tragic!

battlingspacemonkey (battlingspacemonkey), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 13:14 (twenty years ago)

They filmed that movie around here. Some friends of mine took an extremly stoned Ornaldo Bloomps and Lux Lisbon to the gay bar, where they proceeded to not say much and have red eyes.

I didn't watch the trailer you posted (as press for this has been absolutely unavoidable down here), but I'm guessing it's the LONGEST TRAILER EVER one.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:00 (twenty years ago)

I refuse to watch the trailer, just hearing about it makes it sound so awful and unbearable. I'd rather watch The Pacifier than see this masonic suckfest.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

sincere romantic comedy? OH DOE!!!!

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

Wait, wait, is it really Masonic? I can't watch a trailer at work. Or are you just saying that to rile me up?

MIS Information (kate), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

No, I just think Cameron Crowe is creepy, it was not a windup.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

maybe the dead dad was a mason, but the movie seems mysticism-free.

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

Somebody should take full advantage of the cinematographer's wet dream that central Kentucky is and, instead of a boring-as-piss romcom, make a film detailing the fictional(?) connection between the Knights Templar and the Cornbread Mafia. Starring GARY OLDMAN as a HILLBILLY COP.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:32 (twenty years ago)

detailing the fictional(?) connection

I meant to type "detailing A fictional...", so as not to imply anyone had ever attempted to make such a connection before. Because they haven't. That I know of.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

yes it looks proper shite

eat my replacement (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

people do an unhealthy amount of spinning in that trailer

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

YES EXACTLY! and probably some scenes with the characters 'sponaeoulsy' dancing to some beloved old rock tunes too. ARRRRGGGHH

latebloomer: the Clonus Horror (latebloomer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

they're all going to get brain cancer from those cell phones, too

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

i would pay to see it!

latebloomer: the Clonus Horror (latebloomer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

oh no, i had a bad feeling when i opened this thread that it could only be about the one elizabethtown i've ever heard of. e-town, rip.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

It looks like some even worse reincarnation of (bleh) Garden State.

she's lost control (Jools), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

What's funny is that they filmed ZERO of this actually IN E-town. I think most of it was filmed in Versailles and Louisville.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

I hope Kirsten Dunst is as high throughout this movie as she was in Spiderman 2. Watching her try to follow spidey with her eyes was great.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

do you pronounce the Ls in versailles like you pronounce the S in louis? except as Ls?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

jocelyn otm!

i do really like kirsten dunst.

latebloomer: the Clonus Horror (latebloomer), Wednesday, 6 July 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

you pronounce it 'ver-SALES' in kentucky
