Parker Posey.
Is there a film she's been in that she *hasn't* stolen? Why does she remind me of vince vaughn? is she maybe better as a bit player than as a star?
(she totally outshines reese witherspoon in Legally Blonde, which is what inspired this thread.)

Sooooooo I want to see how people feel about her more 'serious' work, if you will - I just saw 'broken english' and thought she gave a pretty convincing performance, albeit one that seems close to her real-life personage (manhattanite, smart). Anyone else have other Posey serious suggestions.
No Blade jokes, please.

Hello Gracie, you're a good little girl It's a beautiful world, knowing you're out in it Last time I saw you playing in the yard You were running with children and the old people were smiling
Do you miss me would you know me at all? If you walked by my house would you smile and turn the corner I'll blow you kisses, only make you feel worse You know you've gotta make the best of the time god has given you
I scratch your name into a wall on the beach with my keys into the side of the pier I used to sleep so I would dream I was lying with you midsummer In the grass, in the fields
Nobody was right, nobody was wrong But somebody had to go Nobody appears so nobody is gone Hello, goodbye, hello Hello, hello, hello Oh
I scratch your name in my arm with my keys on the beach on the side of the pier I keep your picture in a frame on the wall of my place down the block far enough away, it's like I'm not here
You're in my heart and you're in my soul So I have to let you go You're in my heart and you're in my soul But I gotta let you go Hello, hello, hello, hello I gotta let you go Hello, hello, hello I gotta let you go I gotta let you go Goodbye, goodbye I'm gonna let you go Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye I'm gonna let you go Hello, hello Hello, hello Hello, hello
Parker took Ryans dog. That song was the result. Best vocals he ever recorded.

Columbus feels like a great film every so often, but a little self-consciously so; also found John Cho rather bland. Haley Lu Richardson's really good. Posey gets third billing but doesn't have that a big role.

she was living in vancouver for a while recently as she was filming that show lost in space and a few people i know have stories of bumping into her - including my barber, she was dining at the resto next to his shop and saw his dog through the window and came in to give her a pet after she was done with her meal - but i haven't had the luck

her book is p funny. Her chapter on working with Louie CK is interesting but ultimately leaves things a little opaque (focusing, as it does, entirely on her personal experience of briefly working with him).
Made me rent Party Girl, which is actually a weirdly terrible movie.

Saw The Daytrippers for the first time... Liev Schreiber is p funny as her supercilious would-be novelist bf. I think the movie is kinda stolen by Campbell Scott, who is unexpectedly megasexy picking up PP at a book party (after failing to do the same with Hope Davis at his publisher's office).

clockwatchers was the best of those, that I remember. I love Parker Posey. She gets the best episode of the new boring High Fidelity series centered around her and has what are IMO the only actually funny scenes in the entire thing, and they're really funny.
