Or should you just toss him in the water from time to time to get his business done?

I feel like this is a trick question.

If you toss him in the water, he'll scare the fish.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

how about just scooping it up and throwing it over?

i'd be more worried abt how your dog reacts to a freshly-caught fish flopping around all over the damn place

jones (actual), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

Tell your dog to do his business before he gets in the boat. It's not like he ever shits in the truck.

kingfish (Kingfish), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

OMG that last picture is fucking RAD. I love incongruous animal interaction. W/dogs especially, since they're always like "holy shit! Who the hell is this guy?!" I mean, look at his tail!

giboyeux (skowly), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Bring a laptop and post updates on the dog to this board, I'm sure they will be appreciated.

the fishing pics weren't as fun at the huntin' pics.

also, that 2nd photo was from a site that sells little tree/boat stands specifically for dogs:

http://www.nutrionics.com/outdoorsolutions/duck_hunting.asp

This system allows even the largest retriever easy entrance and exit from the water without the hunters aid. Eliminates the need for the helping "PULL" to get your waterdog into the boat. Reduces chance of waterdog injury while entering boat. Helps keep hunter dryer for more comfortable hunting. Hangs on virtually any "Hunting Boat"...

WATERDOG

Just don't feed the dog for a few days before the trip.

My little fellow would never take a dump in a fishing boat, even if he was busting to go.
He is SUCH A GOOD BOY.
I'm going to give him a treat right now for not taking a dump in a fishing boat.
He might bark at a whale but it would be a cheerful curious welcoming bark, not a mean one.
I wish people wouldn't accuse dogs of taking dumps all the time. It's actually a very small part of their day.

one year passes...
I still want a dog, tho i don't know if I want a boat. I am still enjoying the pic of the black lab in a boat, tho.
