last night i asked greenfield the elder to delete a thread which featured the phrase "gay nigger" in it's title, which - when i followed the enclosed link - seemed to contain rather noxious racial humor. now, i could have misread the actual link, but seeing the word "nigger" in any context at the top of new questions really bothered me. dg went ahead and deleted it anyway, even though the general ile policy is that nothing gets deleted unless the original poster asks. i feel funny about it now, especially in light of my own not-too-long-ago offensiveness thread and resultant hoo-hah. the poster didn't offer any commentary with the link, so i don't know whyfor they posted. was i in the wrong? am i a hypocrite? who watches the watchmen?, etc.
