Will probably be down the last weekend of this month. Anyone fancy a pint?

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

I do if it's the Sunday!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

I'll probably be coming down on the afternoon of Thursday 28th and going back teatime on the Sunday. Just waiting to get the nod from the friend that i'll be staying with.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:10 (twenty years ago)

sorry, but chris and I'll be in Porto, just what the doctor ordered....

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:20 (twenty years ago)

I'll probably be around.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:21 (twenty years ago)

My friend suggested this place http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub77.htm.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:34 (twenty years ago)

That's a lovely pub. It used to be my local.

MIS Information (kate), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:36 (twenty years ago)

Bit poky.

Raston Warrior Robot (alix), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:48 (twenty years ago)

Well, only when there's 200 people there to meet Tom and Ally... plus there's a lovely garden!

MIS Information (kate), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:49 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I'd be up for this.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 14 July 2005 11:50 (twenty years ago)

the lamb isnt a bad suggestion at all

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:03 (twenty years ago)

It's nice and handy for where i'll be staying. I was determined not to make the mistake of picking a pub in fitzrovia that's impossible to find like last time. Claire also suggested here http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub12.htm

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:04 (twenty years ago)

you london people should have a seaside FAP one day, for the entirely selfish reason that i live by the seaside and can't be arsed with travelling to london. (btw, this is relevent because i live in a town called Leigh. so there.)

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

Ooh I'd like to try the latter one as I haven't been there and I was only just in the Lamb for people's leaving drinks :)

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

I like Leigh (On Sea).

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

\o/ < yay )

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:14 (twenty years ago)

Is there not a Leigh near Preston too? This name has caused me no end of hassle over the years, noone spells it right and half my correspondence comes addressed to Mr Leigh M********

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:15 (twenty years ago)

There is indeed a Leigh near Preston, as immortalised in the KLF's "It's Grim Up North."

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:15 (twenty years ago)

i havent been to that other pub either, dont think ive even noticed it before!

leighs closer to wigan really isnt it?

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:22 (twenty years ago)

half my correspondence comes addressed to Mr Leigh M********

Mr Leigh Motherfucker?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:28 (twenty years ago)

Of the Hampshire Motherfuckers?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:28 (twenty years ago)

That joke will never get old. Ever.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:28 (twenty years ago)

I'm afraid not. I share a surname with certain Steven Patrick and a Freud spouse. You can always tell the callers that assume i'm a bloke cos there's always an 'oh' when i give my name.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:31 (twenty years ago)

I have two friends in Leigh (On Sea). One of them is about to give birth any day (and the other is the father)

I do realise this is entirely irrelevant, but I don't care.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Thursday, 14 July 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

I do have an auntie in Leigh on Sea, again, pretty irrelevant.
Which day is this?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:00 (twenty years ago)

not necessarily irrelevent, i might know them. er, i don't think i do though. can't think of any friends that are preggers.
also, now i'm aware of these things, i can say "ooh, next time you come visit any friends/relatives in leigh on sea, let me know! seaside fap!"

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:07 (twenty years ago)

I'm not down for any special reason so any night'll suit. Whatever's best for everyone. I only decided to come down yesterday afternoon.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:12 (twenty years ago)

Just booked my ticket, will be arriving in London at around 4pm on Friday 29th and going back on the 6pm train on Sunday 31st.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 15 July 2005 08:33 (twenty years ago)

Shall we say the Lamb on Friday 29th? I think i'm going for dinner first.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

is leigh going to go to the river lea or lee?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

You find a better class of boozebag in the Lamb

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

I promise there won't be any preaching from me, i'm avowedly agnostic.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

Would like to but a close friend's getting married the next day so I really shouldn't...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

That's a pity. Btw, what's my best route on foot from Kings Cross to the British Museum, are the cordons down at Upper Woburn Place yet?

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 08:04 (twenty years ago)

Is there not a Leigh near Preston too?

leighs closer to wigan really isnt it?

I've been there. It's nowhere near Preston, I think it's between Wigan and Bolton.

Teh HoBB (the pirate king), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 08:13 (twenty years ago)

Forgive me for my ropey grasp of English geography, i'm Scottish!

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 08:15 (twenty years ago)

Forgiven.

Teh HoBB (the pirate king), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

Hi leigh! oh no should have remembered this before but i few of us thought about going bowling on that Friday.. just wondered.. you don't fancy some 10 pin action do you? :-)

p.s. from kings cross to british museum - you should be able to either walk through the whole russell square area (around tavistock square i dunno whether it's still sealed off) or take the 73 bus all the way down to gower street at great russell street and you'd be just round the corner from the museum!)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 21 July 2005 10:22 (twenty years ago)

Strangely enough, the last time i went bowling was in London - at the Namco experience at County Hall.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 21 July 2005 10:52 (twenty years ago)

After discussions on the bowling thread i've decided to move the FAP to Saturday 30th so as not to clash.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 22 July 2005 07:34 (twenty years ago)

I thought you were a bloke, Leigh.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 22 July 2005 07:55 (twenty years ago)

I'm all woman.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 22 July 2005 07:57 (twenty years ago)

We're going back to Elena's L'etoile for dinner on Friday - Yum!

leigh (leigh), Friday, 22 July 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

nine months pass...
I'm down this weekend on a flying visit, arriving Friday morning to see Radiohead at Hammersmith in the evening. I'm not going back until teatime on Saturday. Anyone fancy a lunchtime FAP?

leigh (leigh), Monday, 15 May 2006 12:25 (nineteen years ago)

Sounds good...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 15 May 2006 12:36 (nineteen years ago)

I'm staying in hammersmith but i'll probably be heading into covent garden to do a bit of shopping.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

It would be nice if other ILxors were interested in attending.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:09 (nineteen years ago)

hammersmith != seaside FAP

teh_kit has 21 friends (g-kit), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:21 (nineteen years ago)

Riverside - don't get carried away.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:26 (nineteen years ago)

I've somewhat belatedly discovered that i'm not that into Radiohead anymore, oh well...

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 13:08 (nineteen years ago)

Does that mean you're not coming then?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 13:38 (nineteen years ago)

No, the flight and hotel are already paid for so i'll be there, i don't dislike them, just not as mad into them as i once was.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 13:43 (nineteen years ago)

Unfortunately rain is forecast for Saturday, otherwise I'd definitely fancy a Hammersmith Upper Mall riverside FAP.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 13:56 (nineteen years ago)

Shame. The real question is how i'm going to cope with being a non-smoker in London. It's ok here cos you can't smoke anywhere but there's going to be temptation all around me.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 14:10 (nineteen years ago)

one year passes...

I'm down next weekend from 15/6 to 17/6 as a little birthday treat to myself, anyone fancy a pint on Friday 15th?

leigh, Monday, 4 June 2007 22:46 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, you miss us by a week! We're down next weekend. As Tim says, the metal hammer of the scots is looming!

Keith, Monday, 4 June 2007 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

I guess I mean this weekend...

Keith, Monday, 4 June 2007 22:58 (eighteen years ago)

Aww shame, I think another Edinburgh FAP is long overdue though.

leigh, Monday, 4 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

You are correct! We should sort out soon. I'm playing some records at a friend's club towards the end of June, I will post on ILX to let people know.

Keith, Monday, 4 June 2007 23:02 (eighteen years ago)

I'll be getting in late afternoon to Kings Cross and staying in Shepherds Bush but I guess a more central FAP location would be more suitable.

leigh, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 13:36 (eighteen years ago)

ooh i might be at wireless on the 15th :/
or i might not

emsk, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 13:46 (eighteen years ago)

Anyone got any venue suggestions? All drink related sites are blocked at work so i can't access fancyapint.com

leigh, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 09:52 (eighteen years ago)

How about here? http://fancyapint.com/pubs/pub342.html

leigh, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 21:42 (eighteen years ago)

Bump.

leigh, Monday, 11 June 2007 14:31 (eighteen years ago)

Yo Keith -- when's your record-spinning? I was wondering about organising a byebyepride-birthday-FAP in order to try and lure grimly fiendish over from the weej. Anyway I should take this to the Edinburgh FAP thread and stop getting in the way of Leigh organising beerage. (Sorry Leigh!)

byebyepride, Monday, 11 June 2007 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

Guess by the lack of takers that there's too much going on this week? Maybe next time...

leigh, Wednesday, 13 June 2007 22:37 (eighteen years ago)

Very very busy on ILX London, it would seem:
Last Sunday was AilsaFAP
Tonight is Collette&Toby's LeavingFAP
Thursday is a Shimura Curves show
Sunday is ILXFest

Hope you have a good time anyway! (Me, I'm too busy/poor to do any of this, except this sunday).
