Step one in America's self-rehabilitation, with a completion date set sometime post Bush? Will the cleanup take out Rove next?

I'll be happier when corporations stop paying CEOs a bajillion dollars and deprive them of the incentive for ripping people off, shafting employees, etc.

I almost feel sorry for him, spending his last years in prison. But then, he fucked so many people over .. as Max Cady said, "I'm going to teach you about loss."

Like that Rivas guy.. his sentence was basically like 'YES YOU MAY DIE IN PRISON, BUT YOU CAN ONLY COME OUT UNTIL YOU SERVE 3 YEARS'

You don't want to cry at your sentencing. It'll only make the next 15 years harder in prison.

I feel sorry for him in a way, but examples have to be set. I'm sure a huge contributory factor to the level of this kind of crime is the feeling that if the worst comes to the worst the establishment will look after its own. This will make a lot of potential chancers think twice.

he also lost almost all of his assets to the court. i feel bad but not really. he's a crook.

I'm glad he's going to prison, but I'm angry with myself because every time I see the title I misread it as "Ebert cries, gets 25 years in jail". I don't hate Ebert, so I'm not sure what that's all about.

only when jerry bruckheimer is running our legal system

"...and starring Nicholas Cage."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
*sobs*

im not sure the sentence is just, i think that restituion and a ban on practicing anything resembling stock markets might be more fair--but then i think of his basic long term and rampant theft for decades and settle into, this might be a good sign

I am going to sleep well tonight. Hooray! Glad to know that corporate fraud is no longer taking place. Good work!

As a former WorldCom employee, this makes me extremely happy!

I'd guess they've been so hard on this guy so they can point at his sentence and say they're taking this seriously...But George will step in somehow on behalf of his good buddy and make sure he doesn't have to suffer such indignities. Money can't buy you love but it can buy you influential friends...
