fe zaffe (fezaffe), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

my heart stopped for like a second, thx.

ai lien (kold_krush), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)

I already made this suggestion on the Batman Begins thread. Obviously because IT WAS MEANT TO BE! fingers crossed anyway.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)

Kid with Downs Syndrome as the Riddler.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joker_%28comics%29#Other_media

Although Mark Hamill is regarded as the fan favorite, actors who are contenders for the part are: Crispin Glover, Lachy Hulme, Sean Penn, Tim Roth, and Paul Bettany

?!

fe zaffe (fezaffe), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:29 (twenty years ago)

Hamill did the voice of the Joker in Batman: the Animated Series and was very good. I don't know if would be a good idea to have him in the movie, though.

I don't know why anyone would want to have Sean Penn as the Joker. His sense of humore obviously evaporated many years ago, he'd just be like a crap goth with green hair.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

TIM ROTH!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:34 (twenty years ago)

hmm, Tim Roth is a good suggestion... Crispin would KILL in this role though.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Who is Lachy Hulme? I've been rewatching Barman: The Animated Series and I'm surprised by how good Mark Hamill is. As the voice. I don't think anyone would be able to disassociate him from Luke, though.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:36 (twenty years ago)

Tim Roth would be ace, that would add a whole new dimension to the Joker v. Gordon thing, vis-a-vis Ros & Guild A.D.

Hukl, Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

Roth or Glover would be great!

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:52 (twenty years ago)

Bettany would be dope... ever see him as that axe-wielding maniac in that gangster film whose name constantly eludes me??

Tigerstyle Shamanic Vision Quester (sexyDancer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 18:07 (twenty years ago)

Hi. Crispin Glover would be great as The Joker, but please no Sean Penn he would be rubbish.

Tigerstyle-Is Gangster #1 the film your thinking about? Bettany was good in that. Would be better as a righthand man for the Joker I think. Well based on Gangster #1 anyway. Seems too, repressed?, don't know if that's the word I'm looking for, to be The Joker.

fractal (fractal), Thursday, 14 July 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

Am I the only one here with a deeply ingraned sexual fascination with Crispin Glover? I mean, I can't be the only one? RIGHT?? RIGHT??

scout (scout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:11 (twenty years ago)

Crispin Glover C or D?

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

Liam Neeson should play the Joker. Thank you.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:14 (twenty years ago)

klaus kinski should play the joker. pity hes dead

fe zaffe (fezaffe), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

Claude Raines would be good, too.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:20 (twenty years ago)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:38 (twenty years ago)

no harley quinn please.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

Please add about 800 million Harley Quinns, preferably all connected by bungee cords.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

I think they should introduced The Question (played by whoever, since he's the Man With No Face) and just have Batman and Q sit around in the dark debating philosophy like a couple of teenagers between D&D games.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Please throw Huk-L under the Bad Idea Bus.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

Please add about 800 million Harley Quinns, preferably all connected by bungee cords.

This image made my day.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:54 (twenty years ago)

Okay, Dan, what if the Question was played by Loni Anderson of the X-Files, though?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

Loni Anderson of the X-Files

The Ghost of Extreme Cognitive Dissonance A-Go-Go (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

I kind of hope they get Vince Vaughn for the role. I want fans to suffer.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

hahahahahahahaha

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

If they want the FANS to suffer, they should get either Ashton Kutcher or... actually never mind, just get Ashton Kutcher.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

http://us.news3.yimg.com/us.i2.yimg.com/p/rids/20050713/i/r228089828.jpg?x=380&y=320&sig=KAlpFoDGmdzlgR0LXjx2iA--

He is scary, though.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

(My other choice was going to be Ben Affleck but really, who could eclipse the wrongness that would be ASHTON KUTCHER IS... THE JOKER!)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

Nah, I want Vaughn but then Christian Bale will drop out as they won't let him do the sex scenes he's been moaning for and get replaced by Kutchner, as Nolan is impressed by the harsh gravel of his "Batman" voice, which to most viewers will resemble the Cookie Monster.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

who could eclipse the wrongness that would be ASHTON KUTCHER IS... THE JOKER!

Timberlake?

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

Carrot Top!!!

Actually that's so wrong it's kind of right!

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

I'm just thankful Jim Carrey has already had his shot at a Batman villain.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

Batman - Will Ferrell
Joker - Vince Vaughn
Penguin - Owen Wilson
Catwoman - Luke Wilson
Riddler - Ben Stiller

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

I would see any non-x-rated movie that featured Fred Durst in a lead role.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

But really Fred should play Maxie Zeus.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

i would too!

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Cory Haim is... TWO-FACE

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Wait for it...

Corey Feldman is...TWO-FACE
Corey Haim is...TWO-FACE

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:37 (twenty years ago)

y'know I've always thought Two-Face was one of (if not THE) best Batman villains and was really bummed to see the one-dimensional treatment he got from Tommy Lee Jones (one of the worst actors ever)... the Coreys though! I could definitely get behind that (Haim would have to be the good side and Feldman the bad side, obviously)

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:38 (twenty years ago)

Corey Haim and Corey Feldman should have starred in FACE/OFF. That would have been dope.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

a digital melding of the coreys!

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

as two face i meant. but FACE/OFF would habve been much more fun with the coreys!

latebloomer: occasionally OTM (latebloomer), Thursday, 14 July 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

Bruce Spence, no question.

Girolamo Savonarola, Thursday, 14 July 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

At one point I would've said William Dafoe for The Joker(the perfect chin!), but he's already been The Green Goblin, so I guess he couldn't be both. Shame.

that guy from Will and Grace, no the other one.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

Everyone from Will and Grace should be exiled to small deserted island, not cast in films.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:47 (twenty years ago)

Hamill would be a good villain. he was good as Cock-Knocker.

robin williams could do it, but crispin glover would be amazing. they'd need a phenomenal bruce wayne to play against him.

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

i think Bale is fine

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 15 July 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

I really like the Glover idea, but in case he can't or won't, maybe Steve Buscemi instead?

how about Jack Nicholson? radical, i know...

parker posey as harley quinn plz

SOOOOOO OTM

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 15 July 2005 13:01 (twenty years ago)

The Joker was the beginning of the end for Nicholson. Since then his ratio of good to crap has dropped so low it can almost ruin his seventies work for me. I mean, if he hadn't done the Joker, surely we'd have been spared "Anger Management."

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Friday, 15 July 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

Clearly, Ricky Gervais is set to revive the Penguin.

And then Stephen Merchant can reprise his sidekick role as Jeff Goldblum in The Tall Guy.
