When I meet other guys with my name they are always cuter and younger seem more like "drews" to me; I have not met nearly as many females with my name as I would expect, but maybe the moviestar Drew Barrymore has dibs on being *the* female Drew or something. Drew does not seem to me to be the name of an old person, really.

I just checked on name distribution in the US via some ancestry website and there are only about 20 families with my surname in the US at all. So we're probably related to every single one of 'em. That's a lot rarer than I thought, for some reason.

Same though I'm pretty sure just nobody else has it period. Erica isn't uncommon obviously but both of my last names are very uncommon in general but particularly in the states.

I was less surpised to discover people who share my name (I already knew of an ex-NFL player who does) than to discover a number of people who share the exact spelling of my name (after years of virtually no one being able to spell at least the first part correctly).

The last time I googled my birth name (I wanted to see what would come up if someone were checking me for a job, I never vanity google that name because it ain't me) there were 4 people with that name, 3 of whom were musicians, and 1 was, like, a fabric designer or something arty like that. It was more than a bit weird, like I was living alternate lives.

It was even funnier when he confessed he hadn't goggled or looked me up on FB because it would have been a lot easier to find me that way. Oh, btw, he's a Private Investigator for a living.
