I saw 5 seconds of this and wanted to smash my tv in.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 27 June 2001 03:22 (twenty-four years ago)

I think this show could become incredibly entertaining in an example-of-everything-wrong-with-humanity-at-the-moment kinda way. Eventually. If it tries REALLY HARD.

four years pass...
i don't get this show. i know the premise, but there is no one likable on it. maybe the dad, but the producers obviously want you to think the sons and the stunts they pull are "cool." but they aren't. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

is it worse than "I want to be a Hilton" or the show that followed around Tommy Hilfiger's daughter?

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Monday, 18 July 2005 02:25 (twenty years ago)

fox in completely unlikeable show that grosses millions and gets a prime rating shocker

strng hlkngtn, Monday, 18 July 2005 02:26 (twenty years ago)

this show is a direct result of the bam-ization of america

strng hlkngtn, Monday, 18 July 2005 02:27 (twenty years ago)

xpost - i don't even remember what it's called, that's how boring it is

i actually thought the nicole ritchie/paris hilton show had it's moments when the girls seemed likable. even some of their annoying stunts were entertaining. but i didn't care much for that show either. in any case, this show seems to be the male version of it, but much worse.

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 18 July 2005 02:28 (twenty years ago)

yeah, it's def. ripping off that whole bam/jackass thing too

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 18 July 2005 02:31 (twenty years ago)

people that watch these shows are ruining america (i'm kind of serious)

Princes of Malibu is the name, and I watched it for the first time tonight. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be an actual "reality" show or a sitcom in the form of a reality show. The editing was sitcom all the way, but the acting looked like the rankest amateurs ever. I can't image any demographic liking it though, does it really get high ratings?

nickn (nickn), Monday, 18 July 2005 03:52 (twenty years ago)

I have only seen the commercials, but I hate them, does that count?

luna (luna.c), Monday, 18 July 2005 03:53 (twenty years ago)

david foster is (to use a word he applied to a contestant that decided to drop out of 'popstars' because she felt uncomfortable with the whole thing) a real c*nt

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 18 July 2005 03:57 (twenty years ago)

xpost - it counts indeed

i guess the osbournes are to blame for this as well.

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 18 July 2005 04:01 (twenty years ago)

I know, we can have four rich heiresses, picked to live in a van, who drive around the country completing really gross challenges! From the 19th Century!!! But then two of them have to trade places with two AVERAGE people who ALSO LIVE IN A VAN DOING GROSS CHALLENGES! Can they overcome their differences?

Hurting (Hurting), Monday, 18 July 2005 04:06 (twenty years ago)

This show is a total pacifier for the parents who feel entirely out of control of thier kids. If the rich rich people can't do it, why should I think that I can?

Seriously...my dad would have stomped these two ass-face spoiled brats and their friends. And by stomped, I mean taught them a lesson - corporal punishment was not a part of my house growing up.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Monday, 18 July 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

Elvis's Ex, Linda Thompson, is allowing cameras in her home in a new reality tv show called The Princes of Malibu. The titular princes are her sons with her first husband, Bruce Jenner, who live with Linda and her second husband, record producer David Foster.

MSP OTM. That's what I said in the 5 mins I watched before I got disgusted. He should kick the assholes out. They're adults.

Candicissima (candicissima), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:10 (twenty years ago)

That might be an okay show. Two spoiled fuck wits getting the boot; having to live in a cardoard box and suck dick for food.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 18 July 2005 21:19 (twenty years ago)

Princes of Malibu star files for divorce from composer husband
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Linda Thompson, who stars in the Fox reality show The Princes of Malibu, has filed for divorce from her husband and co-star, composer David Foster.
Citing reasons that “will remain personal and private,” Thompson, 55, said in a statement Thursday that “it is important to remember that real life is not to be confused with art or entertainment.”
The Princes of Malibu follows the lives of Thompson’s 21-year-old and 23-year-old sons Brody and Brandon Jenner as they frequently clash with their Grammy-winning stepdad.
The couple’s nine-hectare Malibu estate, featured prominently in the show, has been sold and the profits will be divided equally, according to court papers.
Thompson, a former Miss Tennessee who was previously married to Olympic gold medallist Bruce Jenner, filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 11.

Citing reasons that “will remain personal and private,”

Let's cross our fingers it remains so.

nathalie's body's designed for two (stevie nixed), Friday, 22 July 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

why?

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Friday, 22 July 2005 23:18 (twenty years ago)

Because just thinking of Princes Of Malibu Season 2: The Princes Become Paupers* makes my skin crawl.

*Not that it would happen quite like that but I wouldn't put it past them to market it like that.

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 22 July 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

I am so confused by LT's involvement. Like, LINDA THOMPSON? Of "Shoot out the Lights" fame?? What the fuck happens to people?
