When I watched him on tv in the UK, he cracked a gang of Chelsea hooligans, an Albanian prostitution ring and a bunch of fashion pervs.

It was pretty thrilling stuff, did you see it?
Is he 4 real? Does it matter?

I'd imagine he's probably a bit too recognisable to be quite that undercover now

(what are fashion pervs?)

There's something untrustworthy about him, but his programmes are often great viewing.

Did you see his latest thing on feral kids

Does UK television have "Sweeps" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeps) periods? Those topics you list are certainly worthy, but they sound like the sort of "sexy," attention-grabbing stories Fox News advertises when they're trying to boost their ratings.

And it certainly doesn't hurt that he looks like a movie's fantasy of an investigative journalist.

He was awesome in that band with his brother where they sang about Wonderfalls.

I agree with this!

I don't think we have sweeps here. Our television rating figures are measured continuously.

I saw him at Dublin airport in June 2002, my friend started shouting "OH MY GOD IT'S THAT INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST DONAL MCINTYRE". I doubt he was undercover though.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

Hahahahahaha!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

we were on our way to Homelands UK

Hotttt.

That piece on feral kids made terrifying reading, the ruthless amorality of the elder boy was both scary and depressing.

Do you understand that the world does not revolve around you and your do whatever it takes, ruin as many people's lives, so long as you can make a name for yourself as an investigatory journalist, no matter how many friends you lose or people you leave dead and bloodied along the way, just so long so you can make a name for yourself as an investigatory journalist, no matter how many friends you lose or people you leave dead and bloodied and dying along the way?
