No booze. No drugs. No fornication. Wish me luck.

What should I expect?

JELLO! lots and lots of JELLO!
maybe you could wrestle in it?

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Expect it to be the first of many.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Osmonds karaoke?

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

"garment"

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

Some of the missionaries I know catch fireflies in jars and then release them inside their apartment. They fall asleep watching them fly around and glow.

Apparently, that's what you do with No booze. No drugs. No fornication. And no TV.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

Jello and Trampolining, or so ILE has led me to believe.

Why do the Mormons send so many missionaries to Hull?

Scream! Scrovula, Scream! (noodle vague), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

they like board games

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

wasn't there some speculation that mormons were famous for having trampolines.

kelsey (kelstarry), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

i want to catch fireflies in jars!

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

sorry. didn't realize someone already mentioned the tramps!

kelsey (kelstarry), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 20:58 (twenty years ago)

Oh my! I will be expecting updates on this thread come Sunday - take pix of the festivities too!!

Wiggy (Wiggy), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 21:42 (twenty years ago)

Mercifully my best friend and fellow heathen is best man and therefore organising this. We are going to Thorpe Park for wholesome Mormon fun then going to a comedy club, booking him front row, dead centre.

There is a filthy provincial disco afterwards but having to move house the following day I'm sure I'll resist the temptation.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 21:53 (twenty years ago)

I love me some provincial discos.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 01:47 (twenty years ago)

Maybe you should bring a flask, and sip from it secretly in the bathroom?

nory (nory), Wednesday, 20 July 2005 02:06 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...
are there many latter day saints in england? doesn't seem like a "fertile" place for them, not that indifference/hostility would stop them..... how about jehovah's witnesses?

I think the temple in Chorley is the second largest in the world.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 13:48 (eighteen years ago)

My parents live in Chorley and to be honest until the temple was built I was completely oblivious to the fact that a lot of mormons lived there. Having said that there was a mormon family lived in the road opposite to them.

I just googled though, apparently when they first sent missionaries over to England they settled in Chorley and gained a lot of converts. Who knew.

MATT MUST UPDATE!

It was about two years ago but it was great! We successfully made a teetotal Mormon vomit and my housemate managed to break two ribs. Not a single drop of bouze passed our lips and yet there was more carnage than on any other stag I've ever attended.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 15:04 (eighteen years ago)

That's just got to be a typo.

Stone Monkey, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 15:30 (eighteen years ago)

Matt, how?

Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

Dude, yeah, Mormons really know how to get NUTS without even the caffienes. No kidding.
